Wondering about ghost prizes

I was in this more as a food collector than because of interest in winning the jack-o-lantern prize. Now that I look more closely at it all I wonder if the candy collected will even be visible after the event ends.

I am wondering if the jack-o-lantern prize will show your collected candies if you click on it the way the in-room gem chest and charm tree and "star collector's carousel" do for their respective events. If that is the case then I might be willing to devote the time to this event.

It seems much harder than I expected though and I am a little disappointed in that. I wish we could find the ghost a little more easily and more often. If what I read is true and some members can only get new candy every three hours won't it make it nearly impossible for the kids who have school during the week to get all 12 pieces by Halloween?

I think part of the fun is in seeing the ghost but if he only appears for a minute at a time after a lengthy wait or search then I think a lot of people, especially kids, will get frustrated

and bored and give up on the whole thing.

Sorry if this sounds overly negative but staring at the screen (hunting for the ghost and Snow White diamond) this morning is giving me a nasty headache.

Well - this has had a few views but no replies. No one else is frustrated by this I guess...

I did find spoilers on the jack-o-lantern prize and though I think my dd will like it I don't expect to be able to view the candy after the 31st. If people can only get new candy every three hours per account it might not require HOURS of searching since you could take a break between the three hour gaps but it kind of requires you to come back to the PC throughout the day instead of leaving and doing lengthy fun or responsible things in RL. I just hope that no trips to the pumpkin patch will be postponed for this. I guess I'm just a Halloween spoilsport.

I agree completely with you. Other than camping out in the Clubhouse, I think it'll be a real challenge to collect all 12 candies. Especially since I've read that you can KinzPost candy...but it doesn't count towards your total.

I totally agree with you. I just started a thread also on "Giving up on the Ghost". Really how will the kids do this during the week. Every 3 hours? That would make it almost impossible. Hopefully they will modify it Monday when they are flooded with calls.

Doug took me months to complete since I didn't have a huge backlog of gems when it all started. With only 7-8 days to do this I just can't getting all 12 at this rate. I am actually interested to hear they can be kinzposted. That means they are more like the figurines which have an existence outside the game than like the gems and stars which only exist in your room if you have the collection storage gem box or star carousel. I appreciate that information.

I've heard every hour in some places since then but it is confusing to say the least. I wish Ganz would give us details like that when they start an event like this. I don't know how people function on WW without WI and other info sites. This "game" is far more complicated than I ever imagined when my brother gave my dd her first kinz.

I'm so glad you wrote this, I thought I must be the only one to feel this way. How can we possibly collect 12 candies in 1 week, especially with the time constraint of every three hours and the ghosts unpredictability? There, I think that about covers it. I wanted to just share frustration.

I'm an adult, and I don't see this being a possible task for my busy week, let alone for the kids week!
They did not think this through at all. And if they DID think it through, then they must have decided to not allow for any many people to win the prize. Poor kids.

Candy has appeared in my dock, and I could store it in my frig, so I am hoping it will stick around!

I was also wondering if the candy is kinz postable and will it count in your hunt for the jack o latern? Maybe thats why kinz post is down?

I mean people with mulitple accounts could collect different candies on different accounts and if they post them to one account will that go in their bucket for the end result?

I think they should have had the ghost appearing the entire month of October instead of a few days. I had my account logged in for two hours, volume up on high for when I had to step away and no ghost. I can't see spending the time it will take to get one prize.

I don't think you can be overly negative about this trick or treating activity. It is absolutely ridiculous to be online for hours to find one ghost. How in the world can anyone complete the collection? Most of us have school, work, lives, etc. This is mean spirited the way it is operating now. I can only hope that Ganz will fix it when they show up on Monday. If not I think we have to reconsider how much time and money we want to invest in WW. If not for WI I would be pulling my hair out by now.

The new schedule here on WI is nice though Monday is a busy day for me. I did catch one piece of candy on one of our two accounts. I still have more questions and resent that it takes the mass data gathering and analysis to have any likelyhood of success at this but at least now I have determined which server that account is on and might have better luck trying. Determining which server our other account is on might be more difficult. I am very grateful for the data gathering and analysis that was completed.

P.S. Thank you to mayapal for letting me know before I caught one of my own that the candies do show up on your dock and will likely be kinzpostable. Knowing that I will likely (eventually, if not already) be able to store them in a fridge is very pleasing to me.
