It stops being fun when your kid is crying because she can't find the ghost. And it is not only waiting 3 hours, it would be 3 hours if you actually knew how and where to find the ghost. At one point we left the computer on while we did other stuff, just clicking around every now and tuen so we would not get logged out. In 6 hours not a single ghost! We stayed in the same room. No kid has that kind of patience. It is ridiculous.
So to answer your question. No, my daughter is NOT enjoying this at all. I am not enjoying this either.

This is part of my letter to Ganz...JUST sent. I didn't copy it all because I had to send it in two 'letters' but the beginning part states how my kids have given up on these 'fests'/fun stuff that they have, but never seem to be very 'festy' or fun.

"WHY couldn't you have let them go room to room, fill up their baskets as much as they wanted, but only get ONE pumpkin? The rest of the candy could be 'eaten' or saved. UGH! Why make things so difficult? These are KIDS we're talking about, not engineers! UGH! Your 'fests' leave a LOT to be desired!"

That's what I wrote. I know a lot of you aren't having as much of an issue or don't seem to mind sitting at the computer for long periods of time, but I do not let my kids sit on the computer when the weather is beautiful out and there are more important things to do than be on ANY computer site.

I am glad not everyone has the struggles I have had with these fests...but I wish some of that fun would come over to my WW house.

I think Ganz had a good idea with having this in the clubhouse. My grandson has rarely gone in the clubhouse for the last year..but because of this contest he's been in there a lot more. He is using those actions he received from all those classes at the academy...instead of sitting around in these rooms...I have seen him dancing around and jumping with his pets...which seems to get others in the room to do the same. And chatting with others in the room. This has had a blossoming affect on him....he looks forward to meeting new people...and he's had more friend requests in the last few days then he's had all year....and he still goes outside. I think it's when we take things too seriously...is when the fun is taken out of things. Sure..he might not get all the candy..or win the contest...but he is having fun while he's trying. I don't want him to quit trying because he might not win..I just want him to have fun...and he is.

I love the letter sent to Ganz idea! Has anyone noticed the question for this week in the "contact us" portion of the WW newspaper? It asks if anyone has gotten any candy yet? On all four of my accounts I put in the answer of NO because it's all too difficult for me to sit in a room and do nothing but wait for a ghost to appear. I hate it when the screen freezes up, so after the first time it happened, that was the end of me hunting for a ghost! This is one WW contest that seems to be ending in disaster. It is so sad, especially after the fun we all had in the Snow White ad finding treat!

Well, now that people on here have actually HAD THE PATIENCE to find a pattern to this whole thing, I have found half the candy for my grand kids so far and may actually find it all in time! I never cease to be amazed by the WI members and their persistence at everything! Amazingly, Ganz has fixed the "freezing up" problem also! It may not be so bad, but I still wonder what kids that don't know about WI are doing??? I am sure they gave up long ago. That part is sad.

I just wanted to update. My daughter is the only one of her group of friend with some candy in her pumpkin. I believe this is because I am the one who is searching for it. They all want to be able to get some candy but after trying unsuccessfully multiple times they had just given up. I sent my daughter today with instructions for her friends. Unfortunately the instructions that I sent are no longer valid, since they changed the cycle.
I really wish they would think more about the children. I understand they want to make it harder for us, the adults, but the children are paying the consequences. I can't help but wonder: Are we as adult ruining WW for the children?

My daughter and her friends do not have candy.....except for the ones the parents got. I have better things to do with my day than sit on the computer and try to collect candy for my child. (But as you can see I am)
She was soooo frustrated after the first couple of days she gave up. If she really didn't want the pumpkin I probably would not be doing it for her. Thank goodness WI helpers have found a pattern....but unfortunately I end up in the no ghost rooms ALOT !!

Why can't they just put the ghost in every room every 15 minutes ??
We could still only get candy every 3 hours but at least the kids could find a ghost !!

This is what I wonder too. Just give one pumpkin per account, which is what they are doing anyway! And let them get all the candy they want to feed their pets or whatever they want to do with it. I think this would have made it a better Halloween for the children. I also sent a letter to them. I sure wish they would listen to their costumers because I am not so sure I will let my daughter spend any more money on webkinz.

I feel your pain. I am there too. I have so many thing to do, but I am here trying to get the candy for my daughter so she can have her pumpkin. Where is the fun for them in that? I would love to help you trying to get the candy. It took me a while but I finally understood how to do it.

My kids love it...however, the 3 hours between loving it they are very, very frustrated. Actually, their question to me was how will we ever be able to get all 12 candies and get the prize?....and the only response I had was mom will have to do it while she is trying to work...ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!

The concept is wonderful, the way it is working is terrible. Kids have school, homework, extracurricular activities and to be honest, they are not allowed to be on the computer for hours upon hours in a day...and I'll be honest, until the hints on scheduling started coming out, finding ghosts was like finding a needle in a haystack...so combine a needle in a haystack with a 3 hour limit and that equals very unhappy kids. I know Ganz has increased the frequency of ghosts, but with a 3 hour limit between collections the increased frequency really only means you might have a little easier time finding a ghost...but kids will still be in bed before they even get a chance to find a second ghost....Let's see....

1. My kids are not allowed on the computer in the morning before school.
2. They go to school and get home at ~3:30.
3. Talking about their school day, emptying lunches, doing homework and then their daily home reading for school takes them to supper and then after that, if all homework is done, they can go on the computer...so that takes it to 6:30 at least.
4. They find a ghost, and even if they find one right away at 6:30 they must wait until 9:30 to click on another, but alas, it's bedtime....

...and this is the schedule on nights where there are not any extracurricular activities scheduled and not very much homework...and in their they are trying to make their Halloween costumes.

So, if collection started on the 24th and ends on the 31st...well, lets just say most kids will be lucky to find all 12 candies without someone helping them throughout the day while they are at school. So what it comes down to is....

GREAT concept....TERRIBLE set up!!!

This is not cool!

It is not working well - I get kicked out when I find a ghost (which is rare to begin with) and go to find I did NOT receive the candy. We quit- not worth the frustration!!!!!!!!

Why can't Ganz do it more like other websites - babv/club penguin, etc. - make it a scavenger hunt that has no time constraints and server constraints and so many frustrations! Just go on whenever you have 5 minutes and get your candy and be done - easy and fun!
