Talking Meet Birdgirl's Family Flock ~~~INTRODUCING THREE NEW PETS~~~

Hello to all! I'd like to welcome you to meet my webkinz family. Here I'll introduce you to each and every one of my pets and tell you a little bit about them. I hope you'll leave short stories about your webbies and how you got them as well! Have fun!

Beauty the Collie
Click the image to open in full size.
Beauty was my first webkinz pet. I got her for my Birthday last year because my younger cousins and my sister were playing and they wanted me to join in on the fun. Mind you, my sister and I are in our twenties...but nevertheless we will never grow up!

I named her Beauty because my sister's bulldog's name was Beast. They played together a lot! Beauty's favorite things are gardening, cooking, and trying to find doug the dog in the Clubhouse. She also loves chocolate chip cookies and hanging out in the backyard hammock.

Aurelia the Dolphin
Click the image to open in full size.
Aurelia was a Christmas gift that my mom got for me and she was wrapped with tickets to Discovery Cove in SeaWorld. I will always think of swimming with the dolphins when I see her! My sister helped me give her a name and so we both came up with Aurelia because we thought it was pretty.

Aurelia loves collecting rare items, reading in the library, and going to the Kinzville Acadamy. She also thinks that swimming in the pool is the best thing ever invented. Her favorite food is none other than fishsticks...of course!

Penny the Pink Poodle
Click the image to open in full size.
Penny came as a Christmas gift by accident. My mom ordered the pink poodle figurine and they sent her the puppy instead. It doesn't really matter because just like the others, I fell in love with her the moment I saw her!

I named her Penny after my second favorite character on the TV show, LOST (With my first favorite, of course being, Desmond Hume.) Penny loves decorating the house, going to the hairdressing class in the Kinzville Academy, and making smoothies in her smoothie kitchen. Her favorite food is blueberry cheesecake. And contrary to popular belief, her favorite color is not pink...it's blue!

Ruffian the Robin
Click the image to open in full size.
Ruffian was one of my Birthday presents for this year. I asked for him and I was so excited when I opened my present and there he was. I love all birds so I was really excited to finally add a feathered friend to the family. And I love his treetop room!

Ruffian may have a tough name, but he has a bit of a soft side. He loves the peace and quiet of nature, and his favorite thing to do is take long hikes through the woods. He can be a bit of a trickster though. He really enjoys skateboarding, and sometimes he even skateboards through the house...even though I have told him a thousand times not to. LOL. When he's finished doing the things he loves, he ends the day in his Rockin' Robin Diner and porks out on his favorite food...french fries!

Cerridwen the Oriolle
Click the image to open in full size.
Cerridwen was a birthday surprise. I thought I was only getting one webkinz, but my mom surprised me with another cute bird. I put her tag to the side to have something to look forward to later. I finally adopted her in September so I named her Cerridwen after the welsh goddess of the harvest, grain, and the moon. I love autumn and so does Cerri!

Cerridwen's favorite thing to do is go to the movies. She doesn't care what is playing, she just thinks it's such a magical thing when the lights dim and the opening credits begin to roll. She also loves to bake and decorate for the autumn holidays. Together we've already collected tons of articles and tips on making Halloween decorations. And her absolute favorite treat to bake is lemon meringue pie.

The family grew even more during the holiday season...

Gator the Brown Pup
Click the image to open in full size.
Gator was the name of my very first real pet. He was a stray puppy who was found by a priest at our church. The priest was keeping him in the bathtub at the time, and when he heard we had fenced in our backyard, he became our dog. We named him gator because his teeth were very sharp and he loved to chew everything! He passed away a few years ago and I still miss him!

I gave this brown pup Gator's name because this little guy also came to me by happy circumstance. I saw the Halloween tree in the caring valley and decided to go out and get a caring valley pet. I wanted the black and white cat, but all they had at the store was the brown pup. I fell in love with him right away. His ears were as soft as Gator's used to be and he looked pretty similar to Gator as well.

This little webkinz pup absolutely loves to dig for gems in Arte's mines. My real dog loved digging in the backyard, so I guess he too was looking for buried treasure. Both gator's love to play tag with the squirrels. Gator the webkinz also loves playing pool. My real dog never liked water, or the pool we had in our backyard, but I'm sure if he were introduced to the game of pool, he would have loved it! Finally my real dog loved cheese, so Gator the webkinz has discovered a new taste sensation...cheese on his all time favorite food, spaghetti.

***CHRISTMAS FAMILY PHOTO***

Christmas brought a few exciting surprises for our webkinz family as well. The webkinz enjoyed a lovely dinner in the Christmas family room on Christmas Eve. They all went to bed so Stantakinz could arrive. To all of their surprise, three new webkinz were sitting in the family room the next morning, along with all their presents.

They loved meeting their new family members and sharing an awesome Christmas day with them. There were presents under the tree for each and every one of them. The boys also got an awesome go cart to share, and the girls got a movie making studio and a trunk filled with costume dresses.

That night, they had a Christmas Turkey dinner that couldn't be beat and they remembered all the fun they had in this year, 2009!

And the new family members were...

Perry the Opossum
Click the image to open in full size.
Perry appeared under my Christmas tree from Santa and he was all wrapped up in a box with a big red bow. Both my sister and I asked for a webkinz opossum, and neither one of us knew the other asked for one until we talked about what we wanted while baking cookies. We think way too much alike, and we even happened to open them at the same time. I named mine Perry, because he is from Cracker Barrel, and we often stop to eat at Cracker Barrel and drive through a little town called Perry on our drive up to college.

This cute webkinz opossum loves to build things. When the boys got a webkinz go-cart for Christmas, his first thought was to take it apart and learn how to put all the peices back together again. Somehow he got the thing to go 40 mph! He also jumps at every chance to go to the park. He absolutely adores the slide! His favorite Mr. Moo ice cream flavor is candy cream, but to make it taste even better, he sneaks his favorite food, marshmellows, to the park with him to use as an extra topping.

Marina the Polar Bear
Click the image to open in full size.
Marina was a Christmas gift that my cousin, who was seven at the time, picked out especially for me. He also picked out the cute webkinz gorilla for my sister because she likes anthropology. I had a lot of fun visiting and exchanging gifts with him, my aunt, and my uncle before we enjoyed even more festivities at my grandma's house for Christmas dinner.

I named her Marina because the scientific name for polar bears is Ursus maritimus, and I thought Marina sounded prettier than Maritimus. She loves to read mystery novels and play in the snow. But her favorite thing to do is dress up in Renaissancee costumes and have fancy tea parties. She loves costumes so much that she volunteered to help the other webkinz with the wardrobe department if they ever want to make a movie. Ruffian joked and said she should be the star of the movie, and play "Marina Antoinette". She joked back and said, "At least I won't make you eat cake, if I were Queen I'd force you to eat MY favorite food...LOLLIPOPS!!!!" (Ruffian only likes salty foods.) Then they both laughed.

Cúchulain the Signature Timber Wolf
Click the image to open in full size.
Cuchulain was a Christmas gift from my mom and dad, and I absolutely love him! I was not expecting a signature pet, even though I really wanted one! His fur is the softest fur in the world and whenever I feel really sad or scared, I simply hold him in my hands and feel 100x better! It doesn't matter how old you are, stuffed animals can always calm and comfort you!

I named him Cuchulain, which means "hound of Cullan", and was the name of the brave hero in Irish Celtic Mythology, who single-handedly defended the county Ulster. We visited Ireland in April, and there was a statue of Cuchulain in the Dublin Post Office commemorating the brave men who fought and died for freedom in the 1916 Uprising.

Cuchulain's absolute favorite thing to do is tell stories. He has tons of fun when he visits the Kinzville Park at night, sits by the fire, and makes up epic tales about princesses, warlocks, and ghosts. Then he loves to share his stories with other people around the fire, just like his ancestors used to! His favorite food is potato chips and he'd love to share a bag with you while recounting his exciting stories!

Hartley the Cardinal
Click the image to open in full size.
Hartley was a surprise Valentine's Day Gift from my parents. I didn't want to name him a generic Valentine's name like Cupid or Romeo, and Hartley was the first name that popped in my head once I opened him. I love it when names just seem to come out of thin air, it's as if this little cardinal already existed and I just called him by the name he always had. I love his fiery red crest and his jet black eyes, which twinkle with laughter.

Hartley loves playing the saxaphone, partaking in the ancient art of fencing, and having picnic lunches in national forests and local parks. His favorite place to dine is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. He says it's because they are some of the oldest mountains in America and he likes to imagine what they were like thousands of years ago. But lugging all that food up a mountain can be hard work.

And he has an even bigger challange, because his favorite food doesn't exactly fit inside a picnic basket. Whole watermelons are WAY too big to carry up a mountain. Cutting it up into peices is just not an option either, seeing that he scarfs down the whole thing, seeds and all. (Hey, birds have to eat their seeds! ) Luckily, Perry built him an all terrain cooler on wheels, so he can survive those days when you just can't live without a watermelon.

Declan the Duck
Click the image to open in full size.
I decided to buy Declan after a tough week at work. Cracker Barrel was having a before Easter sale and I told myself that if I just got through the long, stressful, jam-packed week of work I would drive back there and treat myself to a new Webkinz. Since I adopted him in that fashion, Declan understands perseverance.

The name Declan means "full of goodness", and he lives up to this title. Declan absolutely loves to laugh, tell jokes, and make everyone around him happy. If something is really funny, he lets out the biggest belly laugh you have ever heard. It's so deep and heartfelt that when you hear it, you just can't resist laughing yourself. He also loves to play charades and eat ice pops.

Even though Declan seems to be the happiest duck in the world, he understands what it is like to struggle. His biggest dream is to become a professional scuba diver. But because he is a duck, he's really buoyant, and has a hard time staying under water. His legs aren't strong enough and he always floats to the top. He swam everyday for months and now he's just getting strong enough to keep himself submerged. I was glad to adopt him so we can encourage each other.

He was finally able to join the scuba class this summer. He has all the scuba gear he needs, and he is working towards the day when he can finally be a certified scuba diver.

Nealie & Noola:
The West Highland Terriers
Click the image to open in full size.
My mom and I really like Westies. If we ever got another dog, she would want a West Highland Terrier. When I saw that the white terrier was the February POTM, I had to have one. So I bought Nealie on my own. I didn’t realize that my mom already bought one and put it away for Easter. When I woke up Easter morning and next to my little Easter basket was another cute little pup with a bow in her hair, I was so happy. Now I had twin terriers! I named her Fionnula, and we call her Noola for short.

I decided to name them Irish names, even though Westies are Scottish. I’ve always loved the name Fionnula and I thought Nealie was really cute too. Nealie means champion and Noola means white shouldered. So even though Westies are Scottish, these terriers are Irish twins.

Nealie and Noola “like anything that two can share”. They do everything together! Nealie likes to draw, and Noola will color her sister’s drawings. When we go to the park, they play on the see-saw together for hours. Nealie & Noola have the same favorite drink, which is lemonade. They both love to travel and when they grow up their dream is to explore the world together in a hot air balloon. The only things they do separately are classes at the gym. Nealie does yoga, and Noola takes dance. But when we stop at the Rockin’ Robin Diner afterward, they always order a milkshake with two straws!
