A GRAND RE-OPENING!

Yes, I'm re-opening "Learning to Love" (LTL) because I felt that I didn't do a good job taking care of my old thread, and since I'm a perfectionist, I decided to start over and re-open LTL. Surprise! I hope none of you mind.

INTRODUCTION

So as most of you might already know, this thread is about my Signature Timber Wolf, Cricket, who has a rare condition called "Ricordarelafabbrica Disease", or RFD. This thread is all about our journey to curing this "incurable" disease (says Dr. Quack).

I'll try to make entries daily or every so often. Each entry most likely has a few paragraphs describing our day together--me and Cricket--and is finished off with a picture.

PLEASE do not feel sorry for me or Cricket. We're not sorry, and if we're not, then why should you be? Thanks for the support, though, and I understand where the pity is coming from. Just keep it low because it hurts Cricket, sometimes.

What is Ricordarelafabbrica Disease (RFD)?
RFD is the rarest disease in Webkinz World. It causes it's victim to remember the events that occured in the factory where they were made. When a Webkinz is affected by RFD, he or she now remembers being poked with needles and thrown around, and therefore has developed a fear of humans, which is not natural for a Webkinz. The most common symptoms for RFD are shyness around humans, not talking around humans, fear of being held or touched, and (in critical cases) fear of being stared at. A couple examples of diseases and conditions that are commonly confused with RFD are OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) with being tocuhed and Autism.

When was Cricket diagnosed with RFD?
On October 25, 2009, I took Cricket for her first check-up with Dr. Quack, and he discovered that she had RFD by conducting a test when he became suspicious about how Cricket was behaving.

Yay! Happy grand re-opening! I don't mind the new thread, I LOVE all of the new pictures! I think Cricket's biography is very cute, I love whiz kid Webbies and she's much like a wolf. I also love the color yellow (it's my 2nd favorite ) and Animal Planet! And her favorite number is the same as my dad's lol! xD

Can't wait for more updates!

November 3, 2009 ~ Entry 1
Happy Grand Re-Opening!

Happy grand re-opening! Aren't you just so excited? I know, I know. It's just too good to be true.

Anyways, for those of you who don't know, I write the entries, without any interruption from Cricket. She's too shy because of her RFD. I just wanted to get that in this thread somewhere, although people will probably still ask me why Cricket never talks anyways.

So, now, onto the entry!

Cricket has been doing very good since Halloween. And on Halloween, too! She didn't let me dress her up on Halloween, but she enjoyed the candy--like the fruit roll-up that we're eating now --and the decorations and stuff. She had fun, to say the least.

Also, I've added a new piece to my training schedule thingy for Cricket. Everyday, I'm going to sit on the swings in my backyard with her and just have a bonding talk. Sounds nice, doesn't it? It's because I've figured out that two of her favorite things are the outdoors and feeling like she's flying. She also likes butterflies, but I guess that has nothing to do with liking the swingset, since it's autumn and there are no butterflies outside.

Oh, and Cricket stayed still long enough for me to draw a pretty good picture of her. Here, I'll show it to you. *runs to take a picture of the picture and uploads it to computer; goes to tinypic.com and uploads picture; posts the code of the picture on this post* Hehe. Descriptive enough for yah? Ok, here's the pic:

Aw, great 1st entry! Yum! Fruit roll-ups! Glad Cricket enjoyed the candy! The idea of sitting on the swings with her and talking was a very good one; I bet Cricket will love swinging and talking with you. Lol, I love your description! But, for some reason, I can't see the picture you drew of Cricket. Still, great 1st entry and be sure to tell Cricket that "Katerina says HI!"
