Level 10 Academy Classes

The more I think about it the more I like my iMac suggestion. I think it is the best solution to AA (agility angst). Search your local Craigslistings for G4 iMac and get a 1Gz 15" machine for around $100. They are great for agility!

I wish WW would take into consideration when new computers come out with faster processing. They created these classes on slower computers. It is ridiculous when the WW clock runs 2-3 times faster than real time. I run out of time on certain classes using the newer computer. I do not have this problem on my 4 year old computer. This also happens during WW jobs. I just failed the flooring assistant job because I ran out of time. This is the first time I have done this job on the newer computer. When I do this job on the older computer, I have quite a bit of time left on the clock when I complete the job. These things just run way too fast on newer computers. I wish Ganz would adjust their programming accordingly.

I sat and tutored for every class except weight lifting and the fashion class. Just hang in there, and you will get it. I am only on level five,(that is where I stopped. ) I think you need to take it easy, and it will come. Check out some guides. They help.

I have an application called eyeTV. I found that if I played two HD TV windows in the background that my machine is bogged down enough to slow it down without getting too jerky.

Try reading this while you watch the video. You can step through the video to see the important spots.

Key sequence for level 10 Agility

FAST \\ Start running at medium.
SLOW SLOW \\ Change immediately to slow. The second key press may be redundant but it makes me feel better.
JUMP (yellow) \\ When going slow I jump when the pets head is nearly even with the upper stanchion.

JUMP (green) \\ As I clear this green hurdle I can see a red hurdle coming so when I reach the top of the jump I speed up.
FAST FAST \\ Start running at fast.
JUMP (red) \\ Leave more space when jumping the red hurdles.
JUMP (green) \\ As I clear this green hurdle I slow down again when I reach the top of the jump.
SLOW SLOW \\ I always make sure I am never going medium by pressing twice.

It's taken me about 2 weeks, but today, I managed to make it all the way to the last hurdle, & I was so excited, my hand shook, & I jumped too soon. LOL so I'm soo close, & I know that tomorrow or very soon, I'll pass! I'm hoping to have the agility prize by the end of the summer. thanks again, you rock!

Yesterday, I finally got up enough courage to start level 10 of agility. I didn't make it very far yesterday. But today, I made it to the red hurdle right before the double hurdles toward the end of the course. For some reason, I cannot get my pet to jump the red hurdles going into them at full speed. I have had problems with this for my pets that are on level 4 also. I have found that if I go into the red hurdle at medium speed, and then jump it with both the up and right arrows at the same time, then I can get my full-sized pet over the red hurdles. I am using a black cat for level 10 and a wolf and polar bear for level 4. I have no problem on level 4 now if I jump the red hurdles going into them on medium speed and then use the up and right arrows at the same time when I jump the hurdles. I am having trouble on level 10 keeping track of what speed I am actually on.

Believe it or not, I actually passed Level 10 Agility three days in a row.... I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop, however... But I have noticed something... you have to learn how to jump the hurdles precisely and then memorize that technique to get it right. Any slipping and it's lost.

I've also found that when I hit the jump button also makes a difference, even on like-colored hurdles. Eg- the second last red hurdle and the last red hurdle you have to hit the jump key at slightly different times to clear them.

Here's what I found works:

START running at medium (default) speed.

Wave #1
YELLOW - jump this at medium speed
GREEN - jump this at medium speed
GREEN - hit both keys at once and clear it, plus speed your pet up at the same time
RED - hit the key right before your pet's head touches the top leg of the hurdle

hit the key once to slow your pet back down to medium speed

Wave #2
GREEN - jump this at medium speed
GREEN - jump this at medium speed
YELLOW - hit both keys at once to clear this and speed your pet up
RED - hit the jump key right before your pet's head reaches the top leg of the hurdle

hit the key to slow your pet down to SLOWEST speed

Wave #3
YELLOW - jump at slowest speed
GREEN - jump at slowest speed
GREEN - jump at slowest speed
GREEN - jump at slowest speed
YELLOW - Hit both keys at once to clear this and speed your pet up to medium speed

hit the key again immediately to speed your pet up to fastest speed!!

Wave #4
RED - hit the jump key (at fast speed) a bit earlier (a nanosecond earlier)
RED - hit the jump key when your pet's head reaches the top leg of the hurdle

I passed level 10 of agility today!! Only 49 more classes to go!!! LOL!!! (I failed one level 4 agility and passed one level 4 agility on other accounts).

I almost failed level 10 of speed because the target bar was all the way on the right when the class started. The timer was down to 23 seconds when the heart finally started to fill up. I was spinning my little heart out without much progress at all!!! I really dislike when the target bar is all the way to the right when the class starts!

I also almost failed level 10 of weight lifting today because the bar kept jumping when I was in the target and would click on the mouse. I finally realized that I had to click the mouse right before it reached the top bar and a millisecond late when it reached the bottom bar. It wasn't acting like this yesterday!! It seems like my computer response time was off today for this class!!!

All in all, a good day so far!

Congrats MomWhoPlays! I am glad my posts were helpful. My elephant Hubert completed level 9 two days ago. Walace the black bear is only twelve days from finishing level 10. I am thinking of doing a countdown to the big day.
