I would second the idea about trying another browser. Internet Explorer doesn't seem to run WW very well. (A friend once explained to my hubby as to why - something about IE being a much more complicated program, therefore more opportunities to mess up; Firefox apparently has much simpler programming.) I use Mozilla Firefox, and don't usually have a problem. I've occasionally have had the mouse not respond, but usually only once in a game, which is not a big deal. And having an ancient computer is good for just one thing: Passing weight lifting class. Even on level 10 it's moving so slowly, it's very easy to do.
