Entering: Any pet can enter an open beauty competition; even one with no Kinzville Academy training. You need to have completed level 5 in the Kinzille Academy Style class in order to compete in the pro level beauty competitions. If you have been unable to enter the competitions because of the message that the event is not in entry stage, then try setting your computer clock to EST and adjust for daylight savings time. Go to the stadium page about 15 seconds after the time stated on the schedule. If you go to the stadium page too early, then log off and back on WW and try again (If you go too early and don't log off and back on, then sometimes the stadium page acts like you are already entered and Jenny is not sure if you are actually entered into the competition to be judged.) The "Enter Pet" button on the main stadium page should be green. Click on the button, which will take you to the next screen. You also need to click on the "enter pet" link in the next screen. You should be asked if you want to enter the competition and you need to click yes. Once you are entered you can switch your pet (you usually have about 26 minutes from the time stated on the schedule). Do not switch your pet if there are more than the maximum number of contestants entered because you may get kicked out of the competition (e.g. if it says maximum contestants 5000 and it shows 5003 entered, then do not switch your pet until it shows 5000 or less entered). If your buttons aren't lighting up on the main stadium page, then you may need to go to the schedule page to enter your pet. What clothes to wear: Choose your outfit before you enter the competition. Go to your WW room and dress your pet. If you dress your pet after you enter, but before the competition judging (which I believe happens 27-30 minutes after the time stated on the schedule); then after your pet is dressed, go to the stadium page and click on the enter pet link and then click "refresh" (or switch pets and then switch back to the pet you want to enter--this is what Jenny usually has me do)--this should insure that you are entered with the correct outfit. Jenny always wears her Charm Forest Tiara in the competitions. If you have one, try wearing it; if you don't then try wearing a Crown of Wonder or a W Cares Top Hat or one of the Curio Shop wigs or the Royal Blue Crown from the W Shop. Every time Jenny wins, she usually only changes one item of clothing. If she doesn't place in the top 10 within a few days, then she changes another item. Jenny usually wears a dress or a skirt; even though when she walks down the runway she appears partially naked! If Jenny wears pants and a shirt, then she also wears a KinzStyle belt. Jenny usually wears KinzStyle glasses and shoes. Once in a while when she is feeling silly, she wears her Easter Egg Shoes and her Chipmunk glasses! If you have KinzStyle items, then try wearing them for the competitions. If you don't then try wearing Holiday clothes (the free ones WW gives out in their Holiday surprise gifts). If you don't have KinzStyle or Holiday or Curio Shop items, then the W Shop items are for you! Try wearing something that matches; and then if that doesn't work, try wearing something that looks totally silly! Wear something that makes you smile! If your pet can't wear all the clothes (like the fish; who can't wear shoes or pants), don't worry because I have seen a fish place in the top 10. If you have a pet that doesn't wear shoes on his/her front feet (like the frogs, bunnies, and monkeys, etc.) then the shoes will not appear on your pet when he/she is walking down the runway. Viewing the competition: You can watch the competition starting half an hour after the time stated on the schedule (e.g. if the time on the schedule is 12pm KT, then you can watch the competition from about 12:30-12:59pm KT). You will see your pet compete with 4 of the top 10 winners. If your pet is not entered, then you will see 5 of the top 10 winners walk down the runway. The stadium places random clothes on the top 10 winners. The scoring is random and doesn't seem to mean too much. They already have the winners chosen before you view the competition. If you log off and back on to your account, then you will probably receive a different score. How to know if you have placed in the top 10: Every time Jenny Jellybean places in the top 10, it shows her in the lead when I view the competition. Sometimes I will see her twice in the same competition; once with their random clothes and once with the clothes I dressed her in. The results will be ready about an hour after the time stated on the schedule. You may have to go to the schedule page to view the results. Academy training: Jenny has the following training (as of August 23): Class / Level Completed / Classes until next level Cooking / 2 / 15 Grooming / 6 / 12 Style / 6 / 13 Intelligence / 3 / 9 Creativity / 5 / 22 Agility / 1 / 10 Speed / 1 / 10 Strength / 1 / 10 As you can see, Jenny has completed at least level 1 in all the classes. Jenny did not win any competitions until she completed level 1 in Intelligence (she was first only taking Style, Grooming and Creativity). Jenny is presently taking Style, Grooming, and Intelligence as her 3 classes for the day. If you can, then you should switch one of your classes until you have a level 1 in every class; maybe that will help you win a competition. Top 10 list explained: The top 10 list is an accumulation of points for 3 months. After 3 months, they clear the list and start over fresh. If you place 1st in a competition, you get 10 points in the top 10 list. They will keep adding to your points if you place in the competitions (until they clear the list). Here is the breakdown of points: 1st place - 10 points 2nd place - 7 points 3rd place - 6 points 4th place - 5 points 5th place - 4 points 6th through 10th place - 3 points Note: If the results show your pet in 10 place (or another place), but it doesn't show a KinzCash amount next to your pet's name, then chances are that you were not awarded the KinzCash, and your points for placing in the top 10 will not be added to your total score in the top 10 list (this happened to Jenny last time she placed in a pro competition). Chances of Winning: If an open competition is full (5000 entries), the chances of placing in the top 10 is 1/500. So if you enter 500 times, you expect to win once; but that doesn't mean that you're sure to win once. It might depend on academy training and what clothes your pet is wearing (which seem to be randomly judged). In a pro competition, there are usually less than 200 contestants, so your chance of placing in the top 10 is greater than 1/20; so you will see a lot of repeat winners. A chance to win for everyone: Jenny's cousin (on another account) Augustus Moonz, a wolf, took 3rd place in an open beauty competition with only 4 days of academy training (Style, Creativity and Cooking). None of the other pets on the account had training. Jenny was so jealous that day! -- So, if you don't have much academy training don't worry (even if you don't have a new pet because on another account one of the pets placed in the top 3 with only a level 1 in Style, Creativity and Cooking and the pet has been on the account for a long time). I think they give everyone a chance to win the open competitions, whether your pet is just starting out at the academy or whether your pet has a lot of training. Limiting Entries: I think the trick is to enter as often as you can, so your odds of winning increase. The stadium is not filling up as quickly as it did when they first started the cooking competitions. There seems to be plenty of room in the competitions if you enter early. Because of this, I don't believe that it is necessary to limit the number of entries per person per day. Although, if they did this, it would be okay with me and Jenny! Jenny and I wish everyone good luck in the competitions! | | | 08-23-2008, 01:06 PM | #2 | Your grandma is a Gift Guru Join Date: Oct 2007 Posts: 44,084 | Re: Jenny Jellybean's tips for winning a beauty competition Oh my! what a wonderful guide, and you've won so many times!
