cooking results confusion

i joined the pro cooking comp and when i went back and watched i was the middle of the 5 that i can personally see....so 3 out of 5. the winner in the 5 had a much higher score so i knew i prolly would not place. thats ok, i just like the fun of joining. i watched twice and felt so bad for the monkey that only got a 10 in total points. so at the proper time i went back to see the results and saw the same monkey and he/she placed 3rd!! how is that?? i mean i am happy for anyone that wins but how do they go from last in "my" group to placing third in the total comp?

5. If you are in the lead in your group of five, you place.

When you view the competition, you are shown with four of the top ten pets. Even if some score lower than you, you'll only place if you are in the lead. Also, if your pet cooks/walks down the runway twice(if they are scored twice, this does not include the recap) this means you are in the lead and that you will place.
