I got my 2 girls 2 Zumbuddies each today. We have looked high and low to find them and the search was frustrating enough. Then we get home and put them in and they seem really cool. Then we realize that they are so difficult to deal with, they are very time consuming and you get nothing for your efforts. I remember reading something about it raining zummies. Well not on our accounts. We aren't getting any at all. What a major disappointment. At least with Webkinz you can play games and earn Kinzcash to buy your Webkinz nice things. These poor Zumbuddies may never see a bed or anythng else for that matter. It is difficult to feed them. I don't understand why Ganz thought this would be fun for children and it ceratinly is NOT fun for me. THIS IS A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT FOR US. I am starting to think that this whole Webkinz thing is NOT worth it. We have a total of 24 Kinz Klips, 240 plus Webkinz, 60 figurines, tons of cards, and now 4 Zumbuddies. WOW all I have spent and what do we get nothing but a Big Disappointment? I so hope Ganz reads some of these postings on WI they need to know how disappointed we are. I so ho[e all this is a glitch but I ahve a feeling ti is not. Last edited by commodore; 11-04-2009 at 02:06 AM.. I bought two and am rather disappointed so far. Adorable, but as others are mentioning, very frustrating. There is a difference between something being challenging, and something not working. I'd wait to see what happens with this.
On the other hand, I think it is so cute following my pet around, and your kids might enjoy that for now. I just hope it doesn't get fed up and refuse to go along . For now I will probably just ignore them in their rooms -- just play with them following my webbies around, and hope they don't get sick! Then when they fix the glitches I'll see about doing something with their rooms. | | | 11-04-2009, 06:32 AM | #13 | Have a heArt Webkinz :) Join Date: Jul 2009 Posts: 8,798 | Re: Zumbuddies? is it worth it for younger players? MamaGirl - I do not have any zummies but I have 2 friends who have multiple zummies. One is under ten, the other over ten.
BOTH are very patient individuals and both are extremely frustrated with the amount of "work" it takes to keep these little pets happy. I am thinking a child would fair better with the new zumbuddy than an adult because children just seem to have that knack to figure it all out and not get too terribly frustrated with computer games?
It sounds like with everything else Ganz introduces - the kinks need to be worked out by the consumer while playing, rather than by the company prior to introduction! If you can tolerate that, I say Go For It and the very Best of Luck to you
Several days ago, I posted a pic of my DD reindeer with a friends zumbuddy and they sure are adorable, but at that time I had no idea how much work she put into it! | | | 11-04-2009, 12:48 PM | #14 | I Love Webkinz Webkinz :) Join Date: Sep 2008 Posts: 94 | Re: Zumbuddies? is it worth it for younger players? My question is how much does a zumbuddy cost at a retail store. Our area does not have them and the only place I have seen them is ebay. My daughter really wants one for her birthday but hate to pay to much for one if she is only going to have trouble with it. | | | 11-04-2009, 01:08 PM | #15 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 544 | Re: Zumbuddies? is it worth it for younger players? I paid roughly $13 for mine at a local Hallmark store. Just ignore them in their rooms for now until Ganz does more with the programming. That's what we're doing in my house. I go in there like once a day if that to feed and play with it. Sometimes not at all. Basically I'm just using mine as a fashion item, they look cute floating around your pet in the clubhouse and rooms. | | | 11-04-2009, 01:09 PM | #16 | bbitp Webkinz :) Join Date: May 2009 Posts: 466 | Re: Zumbuddies? is it worth it for younger players? I am very disapointed with my Zum buddy, I got it the day the were released and have been playing with it all the time, atleast 100 parties and i have recieved no zummies at all, and if and when i do get them, they don't even have any bratty furniture to buy yet! It is so cute and i love him flying around me everywhere i go, but as far as play, disapointing! Has anyone thought to call them yet and ask if this is something that is going to be fixed? I don't want to hear that you have to buy more than one to get anything | | | 11-06-2009, 06:51 PM | #17 | AmericanBaronin Gifted Join Date: Sep 2008 Posts: 3,895 | Re: Zumbuddies? is it worth it for younger players? I see that quite a few people have weighed in on this matter but overall I have seen a couple of them do so on other related threads with opposite viewpoints so it's a bit confusing to say the least I would imagine for you to try to decide. I have read most of the threads about these new plushes and what they do {and most importantly don't do}. It is already appearing that they follow all the previous attempts by ganz with ww lately, which is solely directed at making them more money not making the site any better or more fun to play on. Those who have multiples of these plushes are getting zums, but even they are not getting them 'raining' down on them or anything. As someone else said here there is a difference between learning and frustrating just as there is a difference in fun and frustrating. These are only the latter {same, frustrating} so it definitely is the worst idea to get one and just wait around or whatever for it all to be fixed because it's highly likely they were purposely programmed to 'give' out anything as little as possible plus buying them will only confirm to ww that people will buy junky products/programming no matter what. As for the comment I read, here, that said ww is for older kids of course that is not true; jr is for those who have developmental problems or are younger than say 6 or so. If the zums were programmed right, and reasonably, it would probably be at the very least 'neat' for a kid to have one but as it is now it's a waste of money and most likely would end up being a costly and frustrating experience for younger and older alike. I'm not saying games of any sort like this should be a stroll in the park...but well considering the park disaster lately that wouldn't sound right anyway but would match {both being major messups in ww}. It's supposed to be a recreational thing to do, play on ww; it's nothing but problem after problem lately and that got added to with the zums. | | | 11-06-2009, 10:34 PM | #18 | Did you say TRADE ? Gift Guru Join Date: Nov 2007 Posts: 9,462 | Re: Zumbuddies? is it worth it for younger players? My quick thoughts ... I have 8 zumbuddies coming tomorrow. I will adopt two of them on my main account and watch and learn and play. If they're too frustrating, I'll put the leftovers in the closet ... | | | 11-07-2009, 03:45 PM | #19 | oot! Zelda RULEZ! Now that the Zums tell you want they want most of the time, it is pretty easy to earn zummies. If you play with it for around 30 minutes a day for a week, you probably will get a prize by then. Much better then Zumwhere in my opinion. The only bad thing about it is if you only have 1 zum (like I do) it is incredibly hard to get a party. I only have seen that people with 3 or 4+ zums have been getting parties. | | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | | | Thread Tools | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off
