Welcome to my Zumbuddies Guide

I have made it for you all to enjoy and use, so go on ahead and use it! That's what it's for!

Now for some FAQ:

Q: How do I unlock a Zumbuddy?
A: To unlock a Zumbuddy, you need to buy a plush Zumbuddy. We are not yet sure where Ganz will be making these available. Each Zumbuddy will come with a feature code, just like regular Webkinz. This code is what you enter to unlock your Zum friend.

Q: What does a Zumbuddy plush unlock for me?
A: A Zumbuddy plush code unlocks something called a "Zum friend" on WW.

Q: I have my Zum Friend, now what do I do with it?
A: A Zum friend can do many things - it can fly, play, dance, eat, and even follow your pet into the Clubhouse.

Q: What happens when I unlock more than 1 Zum friend?
A: When 2 or more Zum friends get together on the same account, they can play together and share toys.

Q: Will Ganz add any new places to WW to go with Zumbuddies, like charms to the Charm Forest?
A: Yes, they will! Ganz will be adding a new thing called a "Z Shop" to WW. It is expected to appear in WW at the end of the month (Oct. 09). Here, you will be able to buy food and toys for your Zum friend. More info on this when it is released.

Q: Are there any rewards to keeping my Zum friend(s) happy [like a good owner should....]?
A: Yes, there is! Players who keep their Zums happy will be rewarded with "Zummies" that they can trade in for Zum-themed prizes... Now Zummies will be available in an area other than Zumwhere.

Please stay tuned. This guide is under construction as Ganz has only given us a sneak peak of this very new feature. When more info is given, I will post it.

Our Zumbuddy pet. The code goes in at the code shop...


You do not get to name your Zum. It gets the name already asigned it in Zumwhere. The name appears on the tag.


Here is what you see first, when you enter the Zumbuddies area for the first time


We were taken right to Zool's room. Your can see Ribbon in the background.



Clicking the Rooms button bring up a map, just like in your regular Rooms


Here is Zool playing with a Pie in the Sky. She was facing away from us, but they do face you at times also.


When there happiness reaches 100%, a party comes up...


Here you will see Zool asking for a Herratorles. If you do not get it to her fast enough, she will growl at you.

Here is Ribbon with Zool in the Club House. She also followed Ribbon around in My Rooms.

Using the Magnigying Glass brings up a close-up of your Zum and lets you know its Happiness %.

Zumbuddies are like Charms, once you asign them to a pet, they stay with that pet and that pet only. Here is any image of Ribbon with Zool and an image of Cotton Candy wishing she had a Zumbuddy too, but none left to have.

Q=Are these zumbuddies just like adding another webkinz to your account? It's just part of your existing account right? I am hoping they aren't another separate account that you keep needing to buy things for each year to keep active? Do you know how much they are going to cost?

A=It is appart of your existing account. The one that I got was $9.99, but this was from a place that I know to have very good prices (Webkinz are $12.99 there).It is appart of your existing account. The Zumbuddies already have names. The names are shown on their tags. It is the same as the name they have in the Zumwhere game.

So far we have not run into any glitches and the plushes are just the right size (about the size of a lil kinz). They are very adorable.

We found our Zumbuddy at a family owned pharmacy in Hilton, NY. According to the worker, it was not a planned order. It was a We have these, do you want them order. They arrived at the store 2 hours before we did. It was a welcomed surprise.

I wanted to clear up a matter. When it says the Toys and Food go away, this is after you have placed them in the Zumbuddy's room. You do want to be pretty sure the Zum will use it, before placing it in the room - because if they do not, the item will disappear after a certain amount of time.

The only time I have noticed that a Zumbuddy does not use something is; if it is upset - and you usually can tell if it is upset, if it is moving around a lot, or - with food - it has not said it was hungry.

Items do not disappear from the Zumbuddy dock - only from the room. And only food and toy items will disappear. Furniture will not. Note: When you purchase food or toys, you get several for each purchase. Example: Soccor Balls - you get 5 balls with each purchase.

Food and toys are purchased with KinzCash. Furniture is purchased with Zummies. As far as I can tell, your Zumbuddy Zummies are completely separate from your ZumWhere Zummies. As we had only 10 of each color in our Zumbuddies area, but about 70 of each color in the ZumWhere area.

The Zumbuddy is always in its room, wether it is asigned to a Webkinz or not. When you remove it from a Webkinz, nothing happens except that you can now asign it to a different Webkinz if you want.

I do not know how much K$ it took, but it took me about 15 minutes and 20 or so toys to go from 50% to 100%. After the party the Zumbuddy dropped to 75%, so the second time should not take as long. But each day will be different, some will seem easier than others - I am sure.

I noticed this too. We have only had 2 parties so far, but no extra Zummies. Our poor Zool only has a footstool in her room, as we do not have enough to get anything else worth while.

I too am not getting any zummies.... I have reached 100% two times now and got two parties but no extra zummies to purchase items. Here is my Zumbuddy Zoola in her empty room.. lol I sure hope they fix this so we can buy stuff for our zumbuddies!!!


UPDATE: I just talked to customer service and they told me that you will not get zummies every time your pet reaches 100%. It is only by chance and the more zum buddies you have the better chance you have of getting more zummies.... FIGURES!! :sigh:

Of course as much as your WebkinzTM pet enjoys visiting Zumwhere, your Zum will enjoy visiting Kinzville as well! Now you can pair up your pets and your Zum with our new Pet Buddy feature. Your Zum will fly around your room with your Webkinz pet and even visit the Clubhouse!
