Landon lay on his side and hadn't moved since their break, lightly licking his sore paw pads every now and then. He gritted his teeth, quickly twisting his body so he could stand and get the pain over with. He padded further away from the rest of the pack, relieved to have a chill go down his spine.

Night time finally. Sheyla carefully stretched each of her aching limbs and arched her back in a rather feline way. I'd forgotten how tiring traveling is. The fea looked around at the rest of her sleeping packmates and sighed. Not many wolves were up at this time of night, especially now that everyone was tired from constant movement.

"I just don't want the pack to think I'm leading them on a fool's journey. If we come to a point where we can't go on any more, we can always settle in another part of the desert. It wouldn't really be that much different from our old territory. The desert all looks the same. That's part of its charm," she added, her voice sarcastic.

"Let's see if that works..." Tyrin quietly inched away from the entrance to the burrow and stood over it, so that the rodents wouldn't detect his scent. Come on mice, he pleaded silently, his eyes fixed on the hole.

Landon glanced back over his shoulder at the Roaming Winds and Ghost Flower wolves.
How could he have become a part of this? He was no pack equal--he shared nothing and contributed even less. Did he care? He turned his head back to the path in front of him, walking slowly to lessen the weight on his paws.

Mason snickered at "part of the charm". Not likely. "I'm sure we'll make it, even if it seems impossible we'll figure something out. We always have, probably always will. Even if we don't, we've lived in the desert for a long time, we can continue."

Soon, Comet heard faint squeaking and sniffing sounds coming out of the burrow," I think I hear at least one," she smiled at how intelligent she was,"Okay, when it comes out, just grab it? Or wait to see if there are others?"
