The cool night breeze blew the scent of another wolf towards Alyx and she wondered why she hadn't noticed him sooner. He wasn't sitting that far away. "Evening, Mason," Alyxa barked as she padded closer. Her paws sank into the soft sand, and she let out a little growl of frustration. "A wolf could really learn to hate the desert," she muttered, yanking her paws free of the sand.

"Evening Alyxa" Mason nodded, suddenly becoming aware of her existance. He let out a small and silent yawn. "Yes, one could. But we live here.... so I guess that has to count for something. Something sentamental." he rolled his eyes, gesturing towards how stupid it really was. "But... there's one good thing. Other wolves are smart enough to know to steer clear of hear, so we don't have to compete for land as much."

"I guess that's true. Although, if another pack wanted this land I'm not sure I'd be willing to fight for it." Alyxa's tail lashed. "Let someone else suffer here instead of us." She said nothing, then the fea's eyes suddenly widened and she realized she'd made another one of her all too frequent slip ups. "You'll have to excuse me," she replied, slipping back into her formal alpha routine. "I'm just feeling rather frustrated with the whole situation right now."
