7/21 - New year, new management, new characters, new rules! The new Hogwarts is up and running!
7/22 - Dorm assignments have been posted! (Thanks to khwaish for the idea!) Please remember that we're all still on the train, and we will be for a while.
7/25 (midnight KT) - The train has arrived! We're skipping over the Sorting and the Welcoming Feast and going straight to the normal school year. You can finish any RPs you might be in the middle of on the train, but when you start new ones please start them at the school. Remember that you can submit new characters at any time of the year, and the seasons of your RPs correspond to the RL seasons, although the timing of the school years might not.

You're sitting in your room, chilling out and texting your friends. Suddenly, you hear a tapping at your window. Thinking it's just your little brother playing a prank on you, you ignore it. It comes again, louder this time, and you decide to go stop him before he breaks the glass. You open the window and an owl hops onto the sill, a letter tied onto its leg.
A little weirded out, you untie the letter and the owl flies off. You rip open the envelope and pull out a piece of parchment, leaving a second in the envelope. Here's what it says:

Welcome, new Hogwarts student!

You have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. For your first year, you will need:

-TWO (2) sets of uniform black robes and hats
-ONE (1) small bronze cauldron
-ONE (1) each of the enclosed list of schoolbooks

Name: Broden Semp
Personality: He's a little loose when it comes to rules and studies, but he's unswervingly loyal to his friends and almost never lets them down. He's athletic and adventurous, always looking for new ways to get into trouble and have fun.
Description: He has chin-length, shaggy, chestnut-brown hair and dark brown eyes. He's tall and muscular and can't sit still for more than a few minutes at a time, which really doesn't help with his teachers' opinions of him.

Name: Lora Topa
Personality: She's a cheerful girl - unless she doesn't get her way. Give her what she wants and don't get her mad, and she'll be fine. But annoy her, and it may just be the last thing you ever do. She's extremely vain and spoiled and she'll do whatever she feels like, when she feels like it.
Description: She has long blonde hair and ice-blue eyes. She's tall and willowy, and quite pretty - but not nearly as pretty as she thinks she is.
Likes: Her looks, guys, weekends, people who do what she says
Dislikes: Muggles and Muggle-borns, people prettier than her or who don't do what she says, not being in the spotlight

Name: Lenny Burr
Personality: There's no other word for it: he's a slacker. He never, ever does more work than positively, absolutely necessary and hates school. He's a pretty good friend, although he'll probably make you do stuff for him, and if you really do need him he'll pull through in the end.
Description: He has sloppy, dirty-blonde hair and green eyes. When not in his robes he's usually in a dirty t-shirt, ragged jeans, and sneakers with the laces undone.
Likes: Weekends, being lazy, sleeping
Dislikes: Working, school, homework
Percentage: Muggle-born

Name: Phillip Ore
Personality: He's kind and friendly, although kinda shy. He's hardworking and loyal and sort of a background figure. Overall, he's a sweet little boy. And once he gets past his fears (which he has a lot of) he can be pretty outgoing, too.
Description: He has a buzz cut, and the little you can see of his hair is black. He has high cheekbones and dark-ish skin, and he's very short, barely clearing 4'6".
Likes: Nice people, doing what he can to help out
Dislikes: Rude people and show-offs, Potions (he just can't get all those ingredients straight!), all his fears which will be developed throughout the RP

Name: Rheena Sarr
Personality: She's very shy and can usually be found with her nose buried in a book. If you get her to talk, she's nice enough, and once you've earned her friendship, she'll stick with you through thick and thin. She's extremely smart and gets excellent grades.
Description: She has reddish-brown hair cut to just past her shoulder blades and big brown eyes, and if you're able to get a long enough look at her face you'll see that she's actually quite pretty. She's short, which may be why she loves heights.
Likes: Flying, climbing trees, rain, school, reading, writing, being outside
Dislikes: Rude people, having to talk too much, being taken away from her books
Percentage: Muggle-born
Other: She was my first RP character on Milly's Hogwarts and I really love her.

Name: Myla Rikk
Personality: An extremely bitter and antisocial girl, Myla hates talking or listening to, or even just being in the same vicinity with, other people. Her face is nearly always cold and expressionless and she never talks unless absolutely necessary. However, deep inside her is a depressed, love-deprived girl who's just waiting to get out.
Description: She has shaggy black hair down to her shoulders, and her bangs are usually covering her face. Her back is slightly stooped from always staring at the ground and her eyes are dark and sad. She's short and almost always found wearing dark colors.
Likes: Not much, really. Being alone, not having to listen to anyone
Dislikes: Just about everything. People, noise, school, people... I could go on and on.

Name: Jay Quintin
Personality: Jay is hardworking and somewhat shy. He's very smart, but doesn't answer questions in class a lot. He's a good friend once you get through his shell - and his books.
Description: He has neatly trimmed brown hair and green eyes hidden behind thick glasses. He's short and has pale skin.
Likes: Reading, school, quiet
Dislikes: Lots of noise, complaining, being outside
Percentage: Pure-blood
Other: Julia's twin

Name: Julia Quintin
Personality: Julia is a nice girl, maybe a little flirty occasionally. She gets average grades, barely managing to scrape a pass in some classes, but she's loyal and determined. She's adventurous, not necessarily looking for trouble but managing to find it anyway. She'll stand up for what she believes in and will do what it takes to finish whatever she starts.
Description: Her wavy brown hair is usually in a ponytail or braid. When it's not, it's extremely unruly and bounces all over the place. Her eyes are sparkling green and she's a little taller than her brother, standing at maybe 5'4" or so. Her skin is usually pretty tan.
Likes: Adventure, friends, guys, doing the right thing
Dislikes: Being stuck in class all day, having to follow orders and do what she's told, not being able to finish things she's started

Name: Jake Ore
Personality: There's really no other word for it - he's cocky and arrogant. He enjoys playing pranks but he also knows when to draw the line. Most of the time. Despite that, he's loyal to his friends and never, ever, ever backs down from a challenge.
Description: He has black hair to his chin and brown eyes. He has high cheekbones and tan skin. He's short.
Likes: Adventure, playing pranks, girls
Dislikes: People who think they're better than him, being cooped inside, class, having pranks pulled on him
Percentage: Half-blood
Other: He's Phillip's identical twin brother. The only difference in their appearance is that Jake's hair is longer and he's slightly taller.

Hogwarts Rules:
* Follow ALL of the Hogwarts, WI RP, and WI rules.
* Absolutely NO romance WHATSOEVER. Secret crushes are fine, nothing beyond that. DO NOT break this rule. That's how Hogwarts was closed last time. And you don't want that to happen again, do you?
* EVERYONE must make new characters. Characters on the old Hogwarts are gone.
* There will be no battles without the approval of Larkrose or MissGnomie. If you want a battle, let me know, and I'll ask.
* Please VM all forms to rattyjol.
* It may take me a few days to sort you. Do not ask when you'll be sorted or I'll put you in the back of the line.
* Post "Lumos!" in italicized yellow with all your forms so I know you've read the rules.
* You may have as many characters as you think you can handle - but please submit no more than three at a time.
* Please make your forms as detailed as possible - it makes it easier to sort you.
* Once a character has graduated, they either must become a teacher or no longer show up in RPs.
* No original Hogwarts characters (except maybe Professor Binns, as a mention) and no relations to them, either.
* No powerplaying or godmodeling. In battles, give your opponent a chance to react before doing another move.
* If you want a character to be part of the Death Eaters or the Order of the Phoenix, VM me. However, I might not allow anything until older years.
* Your characters will start out as first years and get older as the years progress. Please don't ask to be automatically in an older year.
* No house requests, please.
* HAVE FUN!
* Again, NO powerplaying. I've had reports of first years doing Patronuses and such. That IS NOT first year level. PLEASE keep your spells age appropriate.

If you have any problems or questions about who your characters have been put with, let me know. Also, this will not make a big difference to your role-playing, and I don't want to see any fights about which dorm is better. Okay? Okay.

An additional note: If, say, you have a character who's friends with another character, and they could be in a dorm together (same house, gender, and year), but aren't, VM me, and might just fudge the assignments a little, if you want.

One more thing - if you see someone with a dorm room to themselves, they are not being favored, there just aren't enough students yet to make it all even. And now - here they are!

Personality: Chloe is a 'Go with the flow' kind of girl. You can always find her with a book of spells in her hands. She aces all of her tests. { Because of her love of reading } But she has a tendence to cast the spells on the people around her.
