I tried to ignore this stupid storm thing. It wasn't good to have freaky breakdowns when you were in the presence of a friend. "Manners are stupid though. Unless you're eating ribs."

I pulled myself onto the roof, knowing that was where she was when I found her converse scattered in the bushes at the courtyard garden. As soon as I lifted myself onto the roof, she turned and glared at me. I had a feeling she would yell at me. Her dark red hair was being tossed around by the wind, but somehow – to my amazement – it didn’t seem to be tangled. Maybe it was my imagination.
“You’ve got a whole lot of nerve!” She said harshly, crossing her arms across her chest. “You think you can just come up here.”
I nodded, “Yeah, I think I can just come up here.”
She looked me up and down, her cheeks going red. I knew that she wasn’t blushing. She was getting angry. She hesitated though, before meeting my eyes. Maybe she was blushing.
“I’m still angry,” She said, her voice thoroughly angry even though she was losing her initial irritated flare.
I grinned, and she continued without an answer on my behalf. She yanked the necklace off of her neck, and even though as I internally winced my poker face remained.
“I’ll throw it!” She said, her voice rose louder. The pendant dangled from the end of the golden chain, wiggling as she held it in the wind. I checked her expression, and I couldn’t find any sign that she was bluffing. I took an internal blow. Was she going to throw the necklace overboard? It would be a pain to find.
I tried to plead with her, “You can. You have reason to. I was a jerk, I’m sorry. Can we please be friends?”
She shook her head. Stubborn as always. “I don’t want to be friends with someone who ditches me for their brothers. Twice.”
I chewed on my bottom lip, but smiled anyway. She was so childish.
“Stop smiling! You make me want to hit you in the mouth,” She said, her voice cracked. She wanted to hit me in the mouth!
My grin widened, “Do it.”
Her expression softened a little, the necklace sliding from her hand and hitting the roof. It slid into the gutter, stationary. She hit me in the mouth. Ouch!

The wind hit my face as I walked at a quick pace along the path. It wasn't as fast as a run, but wasn't as slow as a walk, so I guess it was just some type of odd quick walking thing. It was kind of cold, and I was regretting not wearing a sweatshirt. Wearing shorts in cold weather never seemed to really bother me, though. The wind was annoying me so I just stopped and looked for a bench to sit on. I found one and sat down, thinking about my boring day to come.
