I pushed the window open and climbed outside of it, onto the edge of the roof. It wasn't where we had been sitting the previous night, but it was still the roof so it was cool.

"Which book was it?" I asked, leaning over her to look through my nightstand. Then I gestured to an old book that was sitting on top. "I think it was this one." I pulled it into her lap and opened it. I flipped through the first few pages. No, this was just the first chapter. Not close to where we had left off.
"How do you think it will end?" I asked her thoughtfully as I flipped.

"Ummm." I paused to turn through a few more pages as I thought it over. I was having difficulty remembering what chapter we'd been on, but we could always just reread the whole thing. "It'll end happily," I decided.
