I stood in a random hallway- which I thought to be deserted- bouncing a bouncy ball. I'd throw it against the wall and it'd ricochet back and I'd catch it, then start the whole process over again. As sad as it was, I found this somewhat entertaining. I had 'Love' by Matt White in my head, and I was singing it softly under my breath, since there wasn't exactly anyone around for it to annoy anyways; they couldn't hear it.

"How though? And I tried to talk to him and you saw how well that worked out," I muttered. "Maybe we should just... I dunno, leave him alone."

I sat on the teacher's desk in the empty classroom, tapping my foot to the beat a song that wasn't playing. The other prefects were also in the room, and I spoke. "Most of us are leaving next year, right?" I didn't wait for a response. These meetings were usually bland and I wanted to get them through before I could say 'Hogsmeade'. Sadly, a two syllable word was not long enough to express everything that didn't really need to be expressed in a prefect meeting.


"We need to find replacements," I continued. "Jianna and I," I said, tilting my head ever so slightly towards her, "Have already found two younger students that can fill our place. Has anyone else done the same?" Ugh. I really needed to stop asking them questions. It just asked for awkward silences.

"Brett can take over for me," I offered, looking around the classroom. I was slumped down in my seat, watching the other people in the room.
Jianna was eyeing Chris in a way that made me feel like I was ruining a moment.
