"Six, my God," She grinned despite herself. She shoved my shoulder and I teetered a little bit, off balance.
I rolled my eyes at her, taking a running start before launching myself into the water. It stung a little, but maybe that was a good sign. I submerged, pulling myself onto the dock.
"Nine point seven," Derik said.
"Nine point eight," Brett agreed, looking to Milly. I really hoped she wasn't going to give me a ****** score.
"Nine," She said, smiling a little.

"Ten," I gave him, which really should have been expected if nobody did. And for all I knew, it could have actually been a ten. I couldn't really tell. But it didn't matter. Because even if I had known it was the worst splash ever, I probably would have went ahead and said ten.

"But you can't even begin to know everything about a person without getting close to them, you know?" I said. "But then there are times when you think you know things about a person and then they turn around and surprise you completely. I dislike it."

I was still ridiculously red from Brett's comment, but I tried to shake it off by acknowledging the fact it was my turn. I pulled away from the group and made my way onto the dock.
"Okay, so um.. this might su,ck," I warned them, before making a running start and jumping into the water, hoping it wouldn't be too bad. You kind of needed to be a little bigger than me to make a huge splash, but oh well. After a few seconds I resurfaced, pushing my wet hair back so it wasn't in my eyes. I grabbed onto the dock and pulled myself up, hitting my knee while doing so but not letting it bother me.

"It's not that hard to find things out about a person," I said, watching in amusement the boys I know knew as the Anderson's and Serenity and Milly bellow. It became apparent to me now that they were having some kind of jumping contest of some kind. "I mean, you can always ask around. And if you listen and watch hard enough, they pretty much make most things apparent."

"hot, hot, hot, ow, hot." I winced as I walked barefoot over the stone wall along the greenhouse. The glass contained heat and transfered it to the bricks all day long, leaving the bricks warm at all times. Walking barefoot along them? Not my smartest move.

Derik maneuvered around Milly, "Oh no he didn't!" Brett grabbed his arms, laughing hysterically. It was all in good fun, but Milly had already started to tell us to stop.

"But what if you're not even seeing who they really are? What if you're just seeing what they want you to see? What if it's all just a facade?" I for one knew all about how this worked. I was experienced with pretending to be something I wasn't. Maybe.

I tripped over Aspen's foot and fell. I smacked my face on a tree root. Not my smoothest move.
