Harry Potter Spell Guide for the Hogwarts Role Play

Year 1:
Alohomora- Used to unlock doors
Wingardium Leviosa- levitates objects.
Reparo- used to repair broken or damaged objects.
Petrificus Totalus- used to temporarily bind the victim's body in a position much like that of a soldier at attention.
Locomotor Mortis- locks the victim's legs together.

Year 2:
Expelliarmus- disarming charm.
Stupefy- stunning spell.
Protego- shield charm. rebounds spells to attacker.
Fereverto- transfigures creatures into a goblet.

Year 3:
Scourgify- used to clean something.
Confundo- causes victim to be confused.
Riddikulus- a spell used when fighting a boggart.
Lumos- creates a narrow beam of light that shines from the wand's tip.
Nox- counter charm of 'Lumos.'
Tergeo- cleans materials from a surface (i.e. blood, ink, dust, etc.)
Cheering Charm- causes the person who the spell was casted on to be extremely happy and content. overuse can cause them to go into and uncontrollable laughing fit.
Engorgio- causes objects to swell in size.
Reducio- makes an enlarged object smaller.
Point Me- causes the caster's wand tip to point to the north cardinal point.

Year 4:
Obscuro- causes a blindfold to appear over the victims eyes.
Confringo- causes anything the spell meets to burst into flames.
Accio- summoning charm.
Red Sparks- causes a jet of red sparks to fly up in the air, usually signaling distress.
Bat Bogey Hex- enlarges the target's bogeys, gives them wings, and sets them attacking their target.
Banishing Charm- opposite to 'accio'
Agaumenti- produces a jet of water from the spell caster's wand.
Densaugeo- causes the teeth of the victim to grow at an alarming rate.
Diffindo- severing charm
Jelly Legs- causes the victim's legs to become wobbly and useless.
Orchideous- makes a bouquet of flowers appear out of the caster's wand.

Year 5:
Sonorus- magnifies the spell-caster's voice.
Quietus- makes the magically magnified voice return to normal.
Episkey- used to heal relatively minor injuries.
Silenco- silences something immediately.
Flagrate- allows the wand to leave fiery marks
Hot Air Charm- causes wand to emit hot air.

Year 6:
Langlock- glues the victim's tongue to the roof of their mouth. Created by Snape
Muffliato- keeps nearby people or those to whom the wand is directed from hearing nearby conversations. Created by Snape
Apparation/Disapparation- A magical method of transportation. a witch/wizard focuses on where they want to be, and the disappear and reappear in desired location. (Destination, Determination, Deliberation)
Avis- creates a flock of birds that pour out of the caster's wand
Oppugno- causes conjured objects to attack
Bubble Head Charm- puts a large bubble of air around the user

Year 7:
Obliviate- removes memories
Aresto Momentum- used to slow something down (i.e. if someone is falling, you can slow down their fall; pause it for a moment)
Fiendfyre Curse (For seriously EVIL magic!)- dangerous, uncontrollable, and extremely powerful fire.
Patronus (Nobody can get it on their first try.)- stronger with feelings of joy and happy memories; repels dementors if strong enough. Corporeal Patronuses are the strongest, and take the shape of an animal.

Unforgivable(don't use):
Avada Kedavra- Killing Curse
Cruccio- torture curse, gets stronger with desire for target to feel pain
Imperio- used for control over a person.

Not Allowed:
Sectumsempra- violently wounds the target; described as being as though the subjects has been "slashed by a sword." created by Severus Snape

Made up (don't work):
Peskipiksi Pesternomi
Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow, turn this stupid fat rat yellow

Death Eater Only Spell:
Morsmordre- Conjures the Dark Mark
