"I..." I paused, trying to remember the right words. "Have you ever been into the forest then?" I asked. "Barely anyone goes there..."

I shook my head.

I tried to stop my silly tongue. But it was too late. "Why is that?"

I shrugged. "Dunno."

[Nightowl]

I considered that for a good long moment. "Do you want to? I've never really explored it myself."

[rattyjol]

"Uh... Sure?"

[Nightowl]

I was rather surprised by Jayne's response. She'd been quite shy earlier. "Okay, let's go then."

[rattyjol]

I nodded and waited for him to lead the way. I wasn't even sure I knew how to get there.

[Nightowl]

I walked slowly out of the stone walled courtyard, my footsteps seeming extra loud in my ears. The forest was past the fountain, on the other side of the grounds.

I followed at a distance, pulling my cap down farther over my face. For some reason I always felt too exposed in the sunlight, where anyone and everyone could see me.
