I backed up slowly, slightly afraid. "Wanna play soccer?" I asked. "I need a goalie."

Kess raised her eyebrows. "Soccer. Are you kidding me? In a few days there's going to be a huge battle. And you're worried about soccer?"

"Battle?" I was confused. "What battle?"

[Nightowl]

Kestrel tried not to show her disgust. Her lip ended up twitching anyways. "With the Dark Ones? Hello? Where have you been lately?"

[I have to go. See you tomorrow! ]

"Oh. We're having a battle?"

Kestrel wrinkled her nose. "Ven, you're so annoying," she complained loudly, while passing by a soccer net.

I nodded awkwardly, furrowing my eyebrows a bit. I didn't want to ask more, but I was so curious. My tongue seemed to burn as I tried to keep it from asking why.
