"Well, I've been left uninformed, other than her name and the fact she's some 'second generation shower,' assuming you know that too," said Jasper. He glanced at Sophia as she seemed to begin to overcome the little nap; he did not try to reinforce the drowsiness from beneath her.

Just because I'm not making any contact with you, doesn't mean I still can't get in your head. Sophie closed her eyes again, concentrating. When Jasper said 'just seems like someone who's been here a while' She whispered into jasper's mind: Ten years... Time doesn't fly.

Jasper rose his eyebrows a little, on accident. Makes sense why I didn't know, I've only been out of training, he thought. The Slayer tried to block out the part where he'd been resisting the knowledge for five years until he was finally brutally forced to give in.

Were you forced into becoming a Slayer, Jasper? Asked Sophie, her voice sounding as curious as a child's voice. Every now and then, her voice would get softer, and then come back to its normal tone. This was because she was also trying to overcome the sleeping spell. she was almost out of it, though.

Yes, admitted Jasper sheepishly. I was. There was one way he could get pulled out of it--if he found out his parents had lied to him when they'd said Crystal, his twin, had died.

Sophia's voice became more clear as she finally made it out of the sleeping spell, opening her eyes and looking up at him, a questioning look on her face. And you have a twin? She had guessed automatically.
