Make your character yours,like don't just make a vampire because everyone else is, and think outside the box when you give your character a power, like one of my charries Berkite, has lived since 54 B.C.

Try giving them names that fit their discriptions, be unique!
Example:
Icystep
A long furred black tom cat with icy blue eyes.

Also try matching their personalities to their names and discriptions:
Usually unseen and shy, but will protect his clan mates with his life, doesn't like to go to gatherings, but if he has to he'll go.
