Katherine walked down the halls, her hands brushign against the walls as she took in the smell of the whole place. She looked up at the ceiling through dark eyes. At one time the place had been beautiful and filled with laughter. She closed her hand quickly, balling it into a fist as she banged it against the wall. Time had changed over the last two years. She was twenty and the laughter and games of eighteen seemed like centuries ago. She moaned softly adn whispered under her breath, "It'll come back..."
"It always does," came a voice beside her. Flamestar stood beside her owner in human form. Her hair hung low around her waist, still tipped by the glimmer of bright red. When the DE had been attacked, Katie refused to leave but eventaully did with Flamestar, hiding out in Italy with her extended family. "After the rain, there's always the sun," she smiled.
Katie's voice hardened, "But what if the rans blots out the sun?" she asked, of course speaking metaphorically. But then again, near-death experiences always changed the way one thinks. | | | |
