Though, she was used to being alone, and she couldn't handle another betrayal either. So she simply watched, her icy blue eyes sparkling.

There! The male spun around, his fur standing on end. But no, he was mistaken, there was still nothing. "Perhaps I've been on my own too long," Shane murmured to himself. "I'm starting to see things." This time he didn't return to his pacing, but sat down, his amber eyes still scanning the landscape for the tiniest hint of something amiss.

Anikika held her breath, not wanting to be spotted, she sank lower, though slowly, behind the icy snow bank. She watched nervously, waiting for him to turn around so she could leave. She moved her paw slightly, accidently snapping a twig.

Shane heard another noise -- a snapping twig -- and this time knew it was not in his head. Someone was watching him. With slow, deliberate steps his stalked forward towards where the noise had come from. "I know you're there," he growled, his voice a low rumble.

She held her breath, preparing to run, his voice sounded threatening. One, two, three! She thought, darting away, running as fast as her paws would take her. She was a pretty quick wolf.

Shane snarled. The wolf had ran. Without really considering why he ws doing it -- perhaps it was only paranoia -- he gave chase, his large paws churning up snow. Through the trees he caught glimspes of a fleeting white shape several paces ahead.

She glanced back, not understanding herself why she was running, she was a pretty good warrior, trained well by her father. Yet, she felt it wasn't a good idea, so she ran, quickly making a very sharp turn.

The wolf ahead veered sharply and Shane had difficulty keeping up. The male was built for fighting, not speed. He could tell that he was losing ground; he pushed himself and managed another short burst of speed, which gained him at least a small advantage, though not enough to overtake the white wolf.

She was a sleek wolf, made for speed it seemed, so she decided the best strategy would be to keep making drastic turns. She made another sharp turn, running as fast as she could.
