one should say:
"I sent a stream of water her way."

Or, instead of saying:
"I flung applesauce at her, and watched as it trickled down her face,"
it should simply read:
"I flung applesauce towards her."

Furthermore, no character is perfect. Your character should get hit once in a while - that's what makes it fun ]
