With a small smile, he put it in a place where his fur was deep. You couldn't see it but it was there and he would keep it....maybe. There was hurt in his eyes as he looked around, trying not to catch Thunder's beautiful gaze.
Lightning sat beside him, still looking around.

Ookami picked it up carefully. He wanted her to keep it, it was too nice, but it was a gift and he didn't want to hurt her feelings. With a large smile, he set it on his back and said "It's almost as beautiful as you."

She smiled at him. Then she dug up a strong root and gently took the stone from his back. Then she looped the bright green root through it and placed it around his neck.
