ok the meaning and inspiration: I had a dream about me and my band (which has since fallen apart) going on tour and this was our hit song ( I only dreamed the first verse the rest was not heard in the dream world and I was concious when I thought of the rest of the lyrics)....we made a video and everything in the dream and the video was so cool. It is about how sometimes we are getting what we wanted but it doesn't feel like we think it should and everything is wrong but when we look at it again we see that this really is what we want but family, friends and places that are special to us are always better than fame.

wow great inspiration too !!! right now i'm just kind of depressed and not really feeling anything...so its kind of hard to write a chorus right now but i have this much so far: (i wish you guys could hear how the melody goes...)

I think it's because they choose not to but I have no idea. I am writing a song called One Step Closer. I am actually pretty happy with it. I will be even happier when I finish it. I am oe step closer to finishing it. Get it?

Fave thing on WI: The friends! I have so many wonderful friends here who I can always talk to.
Why do you like to write songs: Well, I don't have much experience writing songs, but I am always making up my own lyrics in my head...I've just never written them down before. It seems really inspirational, though! I should really try - that's why I joined this club.

Should I write my first song for this club? I'll go ahead and do it - the contest you have looks so cool, so I will go ahead and enter while I'm at it. Sorry its sorta gloomy...I have to think of something happier later!

This is a poem i had written a while ago and tweeked it into kinda song-ish format...i actually like it better now than in it's original form!


Ghostly Shadows


Ghostly shadows follow me around.
Negative thoughts arrive in my mind
Cutting me off from life until I am invisible

Time passes by my life along with it
Scenes dance though my memory
effortlessly creating a sad, lullaby that is my fate.

Another day goes by, turning into years
Confidence still lacking, many hills ahead to climb
Tormenting my soul.

Ghostly shadows follow me around.
Negative thoughts arrive in my mind
Cutting me off from life until I am invisible

Here in reality I envy others;
If I could only borrow just a little strength
Driving my own courage into my heart

Trapped in my own silent world
Edging ever closer only to have the ground fall away from my feet
Ripping away the courage I had ordered up.

Dreadful work I must begin to solidify
The ghostly shadows that follow me around
Sacrificing negative thoughts that arrive in my mind
Invisibility ends with the embrace of life


Inspiration:

this is basiclly a song about me and trying to find my confidence...it was originally an acrostic poem written for a contest with the title Hit The Ground, but i modified it before posting it here, i think it's much better now then before.

I used to wrie stuff down when I was mad (really mean horrible stuff) just to vent and then I'd read over it and realize that half of it was just because I was mad and I didn't mean it, so I was glad I didn't sayit to the person and then I would tear the paper into a million peices and throw it away so no one would ever be hurt by things I didn't mean
