We got our first ever "save the date" announcement. Even though we live in the middle of nowhere, we do hear about these things. It was quite elaborate -- a little booklet -- with directions to access a website for more info. I'm sure the whole website thing is a service they've employed. It's been so long since a direct relative got married. This is for a daughter of a cousin.

Time for a quick session of Clean Up the House.

I'm sure the wedding invitation will be coming out this summer. It's too far away for us to attend, but we'll see the happy couple at our family reunion this summer.

MY Aunt is going to have Easter Dinner at her house . She usually does but this year She was going to skip it because of my Grandpa passing away . This will be the first time my whole Family has been together sine the Funeral & luncheon after wards . My Grandma did not want to go out to Dinner , so this will be best .

Wow, I have never gotten one that elaborate. I don't think we even sent out save the date cards. I can see where the internet would make everything so much easier.

I haven't had a wedding invitation for a while now but think I did get a save the date for the last one. I was unable to attend, though.

Our Red Hat chapter has started using evite for our events, and most of the ladies who have computers are now getting used to it and it is helping to solve the problem of people who did not rsvp. But the event is next Weds and I still have 4 who have not responded and one of those has not even viewed the invitation. I have sent her several reminders and no response to those so I will have to call her up. I don't understand what's wrong with some people that they don't RSVP to things.

marnabear - I agree on the RSVP's. There's no excuse for not calling, it's just common courtesy. At our wedding, we also had six people who had RSVP'd with a YES and didn't show. We had to pay for those meals. Even for kid birthday parties, I'd have to make call after call. Frustrating. DD's school used some sort of online RSVP thing to sign up for orientation and placement testing last spring. It was the first time I had ever seen that type of thing and thought of all the great uses for it.
