Is anyone going to celebrate hot fudge Fat Tuesday on the 19th (Mardi Gras). I think that's a good way to celebrate it. Yum on all counts! I have never heard of Hot Fudge Fat Tuesday, but I'm there. Always looking for a reason to eat a hot fudge sundae. | | | 02-10-2010, 08:49 AM | #6282 | Friends Always! Followed by the cats scampering. So there was a moment of complete uncertainty if someone had driven into the house or if the furnace had blown up or what had happened. That was the scariest part, doing the check to see what it was or wasn't. ODS slept through it. YDS woke up for it and was really scared. He finally fell back to sleep cuddled up next to me, which was just fine. Dd reported in this morning and she slept through it. I had to laugh because we had one maybe two years ago that was less sharp, but longer. I slept through it, but she and dh were in their respective beds riding it out gleefully like it was an amusement park ride. So I was surprised she slept through it, but she is about 15 minutes south of us. Everyone is okay, that's all I care about and there were no sirens from any rescue vehicles heard afterward. Surprising, given our fairly close proximity. I got an urgent email from one of my friends in Germany, who had just read about it on CNN. Exciting morning..but one I could do without anytime soon. I can see how those who live in the worst zones can live with a constant fear.
Mrs. Shimmer, let us know when you hear from your sister. Last edited by My Escape; 02-10-2010 at 09:00 AM.. | | | 02-10-2010, 08:52 AM | #6283 | Friends Always! No to the park, but that sounds identical to what I was experiencing when I first started Toontown with my boys. I even posted on here asking if anyone else ever got dizzy playing online games. It's the only one that ever affected me like that. My brain finally adjusted to the onslaught of motion, I hope yours will, too. My only advice is to do it in short doses, take breaks between, and soon you'll be able to stay in there longer. That's what I had to do was build up a tolerance. Good luck. | | | 02-10-2010, 08:54 AM | #6284 | Friends Always! Seems early, ours don't come until the end of March. | | | 02-10-2010, 08:59 AM | #6285 | Friends Always! You could, I suppose, set a rule that they can either quietly watch tv or a movie or stay in their rooms until a certain time. I have one who gets up too early, one who sleeps until ten minutes before the bus. I'm not a morning person at all, but we've all just sort of learned with time how to approach each other in the early hours. Every kid is different and I have to say that I wish I was a morning person, so I'm a little jealous of my one son and your boys. | | | 02-10-2010, 09:08 AM | #6286 | Banned Join Date: Aug 2009 Posts: 15,090 | Re: Snow White Trackers Withdrawal Club Before IttyGirl turned two, she started getting up early. We put a very simple digital clock in her room and told her the first number had to be "7" before she left her room. That worked for us.
I got to do my babysitter job! Twice I had to close out the WW window, so then I tried another browser. I'll try clearing my cache.

We get some bad storms and tornadoes in the area. I'll never forget a tornado we saw live on the news at 5 AND 6 p.m.!
The only funnel we've seen was a funny story. It was Memorial Day weekend, and IttyGirl and I were at the movies seeing Spirit, an animated horse movie. There's an endless scene with a train bursting into flames and rolling down the mountain. At that very moment a theatre worker came running into the theatre screaming that there was a tornado. It was surreal. I scooped up IttyGirl and we raced outside. It was cloudy, but I didn't see anything spinning over our heads. I drove home (less than a mile) and kept my eye on the skies. Mr. Shimmer used to be a meteorologist so I expected him to be outside with the video camera. Turns out Mr. Shimmer was in the basement watching the Indy 500. He likes to tape it and then watch it in its entirety. He didn't even hear the tornado sirens! When I told him what was going on, he got excited and raced outside. We ended up seeing a funnel just north of us, but it never came down or did any damage. The next day we had big fat wet snowflakes. My mom said that yesterday my sister was in downtown Chicago for a meeting and had to drive home in the snowstorm. So far, all we know is that it was centered in a famous college town (for something horrible that happened there a couple of years ago) just a few miles west of us. No sounds of fire trucks or anything, so the neighborhood seems intact. But just scary and obviously I'm wide awake.
4.3 on the richter scale... unique experience. Going to try to get everyone back to bed. That must have been scary, Escape. I've been through two big ones and I have to say that if that had happened in California no one would have noticed it much because 4.3 is not much there. But where you are not used to them, it's a different matter.
I guess I will never live down my typo when I described our meal yesterday, but at least I gave everyone something to smile about.
I did find two pieces of trash last night but it took me a long time to do it. I know some of the pets know exactly where it will fall because one stood and waited right in front of where the only piece was. I am so mad that I cannot get the park to load when I log on the way I usuallly do by taking the shortcut to go directly to the WW login screen. I have to go through webkinz.com, which opens another window on firefox and makes it harder for me to have more than one account open. No way do I have time to try to get trash on more than the one account.
Let's hope PJ has something new today. I would have bought another princess dress the other day but I missed it.
I know some of you said you would not wear a Webkinz T-shirt, but I would. I wear them a lot and most of mine have bears on them, so a Webkinz one with a sock monkey or something on it would be a change. I submitted a comment to the estore asking for adult sizes and they are forwarding it to the right department. If anyone wants to help my campaign, it would be good if they got more similar comments. | | | | | | Tags | and i love them dearly!, burritos are very tasty, cutiecutepie(:, escape with escape, fabulous friends!, great friends on here, guitar guy has changed, hurricanes, i love my friends, john 3:16, kiyoshi <3 her friends, mom made me shred paper., rusty bacon 2, shiny apples here!, ten thousand posts!, thank you my escape!!!, they are great friends, you guys are great! | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | | | Thread Tools | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off
