Went to Toys R Us & got the easel for my Son Its huge & wonderful it was on sale for $34.99
Thats cheaper than the one I saw at Benny's . Its in a big box My Hubby will have to set it up. So big they gave me the ticket & I had to go around the back to pick it up. Its Crayola brand & it comes w/ an eraser & 70 magnets , This will be a great Christmas gift. I also went to the Dollar Tree for wrapping paper They had Snow White paper LOL , I got Mickey, Spongebob, & Charlie Brown rolls all only $1 each, you dont get much but they are worth the price. They were taking donations of $1 for Military Familes Christmas stockings so I donated of course. Then a great thing happened I went to Dunkin Dounuts to grab a coffee on my way home & the nice worker said it was free today for the Holiday Spirit !!
Hope you all are having a great day & after school today My Son has his H1N1 at School ..Take care all | | | 12-10-2009, 11:49 AM | #1782 | Happy Holidays Webkinz :) Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 14,657 | Re: Snow White Trackers Withdrawal Club Mom W Charm that sounds like a wonderful present for your son. Glad you got a good price, too.
We had another cold night here. It was only 10 degrees outside at 7:30 this morning.
Our little dogs are spoiled and they sleep with us. One usually sleeps right by my back under the covers all night and these cold nights I'm glad for a little heater. The other one sleeps on top next to DH and he usually gets up once in the night and goes out the doggy door. For some reason he won't come back and jump up in bed in the dark and usually he just goes to sleep in the family room. But last night he came into the bedroom and complained so I turned on the flashlight for him and he was just shivering and went right under the covers.
I just hope our plants outdoors do not all freeze. We don't usually get it this cold for so long. | | | 12-10-2009, 11:51 AM | #1783 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Aug 2009 Posts: 1,419 | Re: Snow White Trackers Withdrawal Club Originally Posted by Mrs. Shimmer Crush a bag of Oreos and mix it with a package of cream cheese. Hope you all are having a great day & after school today My Son has his H1N1 at School ..Take care all Congrats on getting the easel! Ahh...the joy of assembling gifts for Christmas. I'd bet we all have stories about that. (Like the time my dad forgot to fully attach the front wheel on my bike ).
I used to always get wrapping paper at the Dollar store; can't beat that price! But...a few years ago I came across an incredible after-Christmas sale at Sam's Club. I picked up several giant multi-packs for next to nothing. I'm still using up the paper from that purchase. I think this year will be the end of it, though, as I have a huge box (video game boomchair) to wrap, and plans to play a sneaky trick on my nephew, which will require wrapping of several extra "gifts" of various sizes (read: larger boxes containing smaller boxes, containing very small boxes, containing small items...like a dollar bill ).
Free coffee at Dunkin Donuts? Nice! I don't drink coffee, but often pick some up for a friend. I wonder if it's at all locations or just specific shops. Hmm. I sense a trip to DD coming on .

I just hope our plants outdoors do not all freeze. We don't usually get it this cold for so long. Okay, first...BBRRRR! I really should be living in a warmer area! We've been getting some snow again today, a couple of times the snow was coming down so hard, combined with the wind, that we had a whiteout. Didn't last too long, though. Just hope it stays nice enough that they don't cancel the concert; my niece would be so upset.
Those dogs sound adorable! Poor little thing must have been so cold after his visit with mother nature . I can always tell when the draft makes a chill in my house because my black cat will nudge her way under the blankets until just her little nose shows. | | | 12-10-2009, 02:14 PM | #1787 | Friends Always! You can be MY personal shopper from now on!
I've been busy this morning trying to get some playstation 2 and DS games bought on Amazon. The DS games were no problem, but I'm frustrated on the ps2 stuff because I do take the Amazon reviews seriously. They're usually dead-on target. Unfortunately, every game my boys picked out blindly has horrible reviews, mainly for glitch reasons. So I'm trying to come up wtih my own ideas and it's just going bad. So about to hit 'purchase' on the DS stuff and will ask dh for help on the ps2. I'm fried on this gift-buying right now.
GUESS WHAT, GUESS WHAT, GUESS WHAT????
Okay, this won't be any big deal to most of you, but I just got the Doug Gem Fountain! I'm so excited, especially because I was very depleted in gems and had hit slag the last few days while trying to replenish. Yesterday I couldn't meet his needs no matter how many times I tried. Today, he wanted two diamonds and an ember amber on the first try and I had two of each. It was almost all I had left of the rares and uncommons. I'm not sorry it's over, especially with Birdy around the corner.
Whopping six degrees here, I'm staying in. Will go back and see what's going on here before I head back to Amazon. Congrats on the Gem Fountain Its very pretty & hard to get (alot of work) Thats awesome !!
My Daughter loves her DS those games are easy to find , I agree about the PS2 games they are getting more difficult & glitchy I think because the PS3 came out & you cant use the PS2 games in the PS3 system, The DS games can be used on the DS I too. & My Son has a gameboy & those can be played on the DS too . Glad you found a few things & enjoy the fountain !! | | | 12-10-2009, 02:41 PM | #1789 | Banned Join Date: Aug 2009 Posts: 15,090 | Re: Snow White Trackers Withdrawal Club Several of us are bundling up today. We're up to 30 degrees with bright sunshine. I just took pictures of Shimmer on the sled. LOL!
Escape: Congrats on the Gem Fountain!
For big gifts, I sometimes hide it and then wrap a little gift with the location. Saves on paper! That's how I gave my sister an ironing board once -- she had requested it. Now we need a thread on where to hide BIG gifts. | | | 12-10-2009, 02:59 PM | #1790 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Aug 2009 Posts: 1,419 | Re: Snow White Trackers Withdrawal Club Hi 50ish, Happy Thursday! I did read your thread about traders and wrote a response...only to have it disappear when I tried to submit . I'll go back and try again, though!
Caroling for the seniors is a great cause. My mom, my SIL (and me, in years long past) have worked in nursing homes, senior living, and hospitals. The patients/residents get such a boost from those kinds of things. Those girl scouts are doing a wonderful thing. Hi Mom4...I'm with you, I'm having some issues with holiday spirit this year. With luck, it will show up for both of us. Hi Escape! Congratulations on the fountain! I think it's a big deal - it takes a long time to collect all those gems and keep going back to Doug over and over to get those prizes. I haven't even have the nerve to start yet. Next week, I think, but with Ms. Birdy I might regret that .
Sorry to hear of your shopping frustrations. If you haven't already tried Gamestop, I highly recommend giving them a try. If you tried there and didn't find what you're looking for, they may still be of help. It will depend on your local Gamestop stores, but the ones here are mostly staffed by serious gamers of all kinds. They really know their stuff and have helped me out many times. You could talk to some of the staff and describe the games your sons have picked out, as well as just the general types of games they usually enjoy. Based on that, they should be able to tell you if the chosen games are known to be glitched (they've always been really honest with me about that) and also make recommendations for other games that might fit the bill. I'd offer some suggestions, but our PS2 player is a middle-school girl. She likes the Shrek games a lot, but also plays Finding Nemo, Tony Hawk, and Dance Revolution quite a bit. She has a bunch of other games, but doesn't play that much (not because of the games, but because she's got a bunch of online games...WW, Ty, Shining Stars.
Wish I could bottle up some holiday spirit and send it to you and Mom4! Not that I'm the most festive person, but I force myself to feign holiday spirit until it sticks. Not feeling all that cheerful today, as my brother is being...well, something I shouldn't say on the forum. But, I'll force the holiday cheer even more in this case, as it will irritate him. Can you say payback?

Sorry to go way off-topic, but does anyone else here watch Top Chef? I was so rooting for Kevin . But, the brothers are clearly incredible chefs, and I think it really was anyone's game. I kind of wish that, for the finale and the title, they could consider the whole of the season and not just that one meal. Oh well. It was a great season with some talented chefs.
