Here's a new smilie I just came up with, it's a political message....at least for turkeys... It's a chicken stuffed inside a duck, which is then stuffed inside a turkey, and the turkey is then closed up so it just looks like a regular turkey. Until you cut into it.
Jenifer is one ambitious cook to try it; seems like a huge amount of work to me. Wonder if she's deboning them all herself or having the butcher handle that part. I hope the latter! Yikes. | | | 11-23-2009, 11:36 AM | #1306 | illiam has a bunny Webkinz :) Join Date: Jan 2009 Posts: 11,864 | Re: Snow White Trackers Withdrawal Club Originally Posted by unsoclbuttrfly It's a chicken stuffed inside a duck, which is then stuffed inside a turkey, and the turkey is then closed up so it just looks like a regular turkey. No way! I was just joking when I thought that's what you actually did! Wow! Yes, that sounds like a huge amount of work! Kudos to Jenifer for actually trying it!
I bought my turkey yesterday, and I have it in the fridge thawing....it doesn't seem like it's gotten any softer....will it actually thaw out by Thursday? Or should I leave it in there, and then take it out on Wednesday? Hmm....so many questons! | | | 11-23-2009, 11:37 AM | #1307 | Happy Holidays Webkinz :) Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 14,648 | Re: Snow White Trackers Withdrawal Club Hope every one is having a good Monday and Escape, I hope you are feeing better.
It's another gray day here and I just hope it does not rain too much. Today they are working on the freeway where part of it washed away so I'm glad I don't have to go south today. Yesterday there were some power outages but mostly where my friend lives. She is where it floods more because there are two rivers nearby. Last time we had big floods her basement flooded even though they live on a little hill and she was not sure she was going to make it home from work.
I went to a big bazaar yesterday but hardly bought a thing. After a while everything started to look pretty much alike. Today DH and I are going out to lunch so that I can go buy a friend the pair of purple gloves she wants. She is a Red Hatter, too, and when we spot something nice in purple we want it.
No Webkinz on my shopping list today. I got my blufadoodle Saturday so that and the glamour gecko are enough for a while though I am hoping to get the weimeraner I bought on Ebay this week. | | | 11-23-2009, 11:44 AM | #1308 | Banned Join Date: Aug 2009 Posts: 15,090 | Re: Snow White Trackers Withdrawal Club Bindi, I think your turkey is right on schedule. A couple of days will usually thaw that ol' bird.
Foggy and cold here. | | | 11-23-2009, 11:48 AM | #1309 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Aug 2009 Posts: 1,419 | Re: Snow White Trackers Withdrawal Club Originally Posted by Bindidog Okay, now I don't know if you're joking or not.....let me go google it....

LOL! Well, that was a really good guess!
As for the turkey, if you keep it in the fridge, it should thaw by Thursday.
If it's still frozen on Wednesday night, you could put it in a large container of cold water (leave it in the packaging and make sure it is completely covered with cold water). If you need to do this, make sure you keep the water very, very cold. Whatever you do, they do not advise letting it sit at room temperature to defrost. It's kind of like daring the bacteria to take their best shot at giving you food poisoning. Ick!
One year when I was a kid, my mom had to put the turkey (still wrapped) in the bathtub and leave the cold water running over it to get it to defrost on Thanksgiving morning. She had forgotten to defrost it in advance, you see, and didn't have a big enough container to hold the turkey covered with water. | | | 11-23-2009, 11:48 AM | #1310 | illiam has a bunny Webkinz :) Join Date: Jan 2009 Posts: 11,864 | Re: Snow White Trackers Withdrawal Club Originally Posted by Mrs. Shimmer Bindi, I think your turkey is right on schedule. Foggy and cold here. Thank you! That's good to know.
Foggy and cold, with a touch of snow, here on the other side of the mountains Marna.
Thanks butterfly....that is good to know! I can just imagine if my DBF walks in to use the bathroom, and sees the turkey "taking a bath" !
