I hoe Escape is ok and that her DS is, too.

No American Greetings around here except in supermarkets so no sale on Webkinz. But one of the stores here did have them for $10 here and I had a $2 coupon off toys so I got the Caring Valley lion. I am going to wait until next month to plant the saplings, though.

My Glamout Gecko arrived today and I guess I will have to hope to get something in the trading room or buy some lip gloss so I can make a beauty shop so she can be the manicurist there. I named her Madge after the character in the Palmolive dish soap TV ads. Maybe you all are too young to remember her. I'm pretty sure the actress who played her is dead now.

She just landed right in the walk in closet, ready to pick out some glamour clothes.

I also hope Escape and her son are okay. When the flu hit here, we pretty much did nothing but sleep for days, so maybe they are sleeping through it, too. At least when you're sleeping, you're a little less aware of how crummy you feel.

I'm still not sure about the zum buddies. I think they look really cute, but not sure if I want to make the commitment in time and KC that they seem to require.


Dutchmother - sorry to hear about your disappointment with the GE. I'd say take a little time before you apply again, and make some more non-fluff posts in a number of different threads on the forum in the meantime. It does sound like it's not easy to get in, especially if they have a long list of applicants. Good luck if you decide to try again. Try not to let it get you down.

I remember Madge! When I was little, my grandfather used to take me to a local ice cream shop everyday on the way to pick up my grandmother, and the lady who always waited on us was a dead ringer for madge. I think the name you picked for your strawberry leopard was great, too!

Ain't that the truth? Actually, it's this mom down the street who just annoys the heck out of me. We call her Perfect Mom. No matter what your kids have done, hers have done it better, stronger, faster, sicker, smarter...you get the idea. It's impossible for her to complete a sentence without mentioning one of her kids and her voice is very loud, so half the street hears it. I just sort of wish the germs had headed a few doors north of me, that's all.

Dutchmother - I'm sorry, I know you're disappointed. I would be, too. In fact, I probably will be, come January. Take a break, spend time in the Help forum and hopefully after the holidays you'll be all set. You're in very good company, I assure you. Interestingly, I've seen plenty of people with under 100 posts as gifted or gift trainees. They must have just jumped in with both feet.

I'll get to the other posts shortly. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. I'm knocked flat, but fighting. My son is doing much better, his temp is definitely in the low-grade zone. We both have awful coughs. The only problem is now that he's feeling better, he's bored and wants to play games with me. All I want to do is sleep, like he did three days ago. So I managed to play Life with him this afternoon, but went back to bed afterward. My cats are happy because I have my electric mattress pad cranked way up and I woke up from one nap to find all three of them lounging on my side. Rough life for those furry things.

Marnabear - I LOVE the names you give your pets. They're so fun. I remember Madge very well. You should do an entire commercial theme and do Mr. Whipple next.

I am astonished they are stopping production on Zumbuddies already. I wonder if they just proved to be too difficult or if it's one of those 'let's retire it within the same month' ploys they've done in the past. Why, I have no idea, can't figure out the business angle to that at all.

Regarding the strawberry leopard (if anyone is still reading at this point...) - is the jukebox animiated at all? Sound, lights, motion...anything?

I just got a 20% off my entire order at a local Hallmark. However, it's only good for the next three days (don't feel like shopping at the moment), can't be used on Keepsake ornaments (the only ones I collect), and the mooses aren't in. Methinks that will be an unused coupon.

I asked Dh where he got the zumbuddy - and he said he got it at FYE. I am seeing them on ebay for 8.95 - tag only.

I like the name Fragoli - Marnabear - that's cute - everyone comes up with such original names!
