Wow! That's so cool! I think it's amazing the way people who are Deaf have their own way of communicating! I, unfortunately, don't know sign language. I'd love to learn though!

Don't wish to learn sign language....Do it. See websites in Post #1. I want all learn sign language. Web make much better for hearing people. Learn from book hard and not learn sign right way. Web show video you can practice and copy. On you tube there lot of great video.

My mom use these site if she not know how say something....but sometime not "sign" and MUST fingerspell out word. but learn ABC is not enough.

Wow, cool thread. I can't sign, but there used to be a lady where my mom worked who could. She would sign songs to music....it was really pretty.

I might check out the video....it would be fun to learn, plus if I met someone who is deaf, I could talk to them.

I love sign language, every year I go to deaf camp and I get to sign all day long with deaf people, I meet some great friends. We have a sign language club at our school and I know asl very well now. I love being around deaf people. I have many deaf friends, I used to volunteer for a deaf reading of books (when people were still learning/they want to be at story time) and what I would do is a would sign books to little kids that don't realy know how to read but know how to read signs, it was neat.

I think it is so cool that you are really honest and open about it, rock on!

Wow, those are very cool sites! I don't know ASL, but it would be fun to learn. I do know how to spell my name though but that's about it.

WOW! That so great for you know sign language. I go camp summer for all Deaf. It very fun. Some hearing older kids are work with us and they sign language good. Camp and summer school are most fun place for me because sign all day. Not good communicate with kids at my home. I get frustrate. I have one real good hearing friend. She learn fast sign with me. My Deaf friends come sleep my house and my mom think we all gossip and plan bad funny thing becuase she not understand fast with sign language. Very funny. some things same Dear or hearing!

I learned the sign language alphabet when I was in middle school, so I could 'chat' with my friend in class during silent reading time. The teacher caught us, but actually let it go. It was a great way to communicate when we were supposed to be quiet. LOL My friend went on to get her college degree in sign language. It's a great 'second language'. I know that a lot of high schools now are teaching it as an alternative to foreign language classes. It's actually a very beautiful way of speaking, in my opinion, and sure came in 'handy' in my middle school reading class!

I love your thread idea! I do know some sign language. I know the alphabet, and some words! One of my friends is deaf and I love to learn how to communicate to her with out talking! I do sometimes watch the Signing Time on PBS! We watched it in one of my classes last year when it was on! Thanks for the sign language websites! I will definetly check them out! ;]
