OK: Baby Wolf bring up C-Print and that new for me. Here is information on exactly what that is.... Information is from www.deafterp.com This is an option that can be used instead of sign language interpreter. C-Print Captioning, also known as text interpreting, was developed at the National Technical
Institute for the Deaf, a college of the Rochester Technical Institute in Rochester, New York.
It was developed as a communication access service option for Deaf and Hard of Hearing
individuals who prefer printed text interpreting.
C-Print was developed at first for use in the educational environment, but has since found its
way into the community as a way to bridge the communication gap between service
providers, businesses, and Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
On site C-Print Captioning can be displayed on a single laptop computer that the Captionist is
typing on or transmitted to a second laptop for the consumer to view. For three of more
consumers, the text can be displayed on a television monitor or for a larger crowd, on a
projection screen. | | | 06-30-2009, 03:19 PM | #103 | is proud to be a Gift Guru Join Date: Jun 2009 Posts: 4,068 | Re: Sign Language Fun: Deaf Like Me? I would love to join your club! I love doing sign language! I was wondering how to sign something maybe like this:" Ball" Can you show me how to sign that? I forgot, and if "ball" was a name, you would have to sign the letters, but there are 2 of the same letters, how do you sign it, that way? I'm not sure if you get what I'm talking about, it's kinda confusing.... | | | 06-30-2009, 03:35 PM | #106 | ohi doctor Webkinz :) Join Date: Oct 2007 Posts: 25,987 | Re: Sign Language Fun: Deaf Like Me? If you are fingerspelling two of the same letter you just move your hand over to show another letter. Check out some of the sites on Post 1 and you can look at people fingerspelling. | | | 06-30-2009, 04:02 PM | #108 | Guest | Re: Sign Language Fun: Deaf Like Me? In my school sometimes the interpreter would type and there would be a monitor on the shelf and the person would read it and know what we were saying. I liked that. DO you do that? | | | | 06-30-2009, 04:07 PM | #109 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Mar 2009 Posts: 703 | Re: Sign Language Fun: Deaf Like Me?
