Haha, yeah the album is good. I think the alternate to Wanted Dead or Alive was a bit disappointing cause that was such a good song and the alternate just seems too...new. Sounds like something the Jonas Brothers would write. Although they sang it pretty good and with his voice it just can't sound Jonassy.
Haha, I was listening to Nickelback yesterday and she got mad when she figured out my dad had a CD. Haha, don't be creeped out by this but I can't stand the censored version of Rockstar. It just irks me to no end! It just irks me to no end! yeah. I like the Jonas brothers, but I don't think they should try somethinglike that. Thier whole "image" is just to "new" for songs like that. Anyways yeah maybe he was trying to appeal to the "newer" crowd LOL
hahahahaha LOL nice.
Yeahh I kinda irks me too, especially whe nthey censor they words that arn't all that bad, like the word thats edited when hes talking about a pez dispenser | | | 03-20-2010, 10:08 AM | #1084 | chuhulil Webkinz :) Join Date: Jul 2008 Posts: 5,424 | Re: Rock of the 70s & 80s Club But the "newer" crowd wouldn't like it either. I think it was a good idea to make a CD of alternates but I don't think they should have put Wanted on there. It's just a classic. Nothing alternate can match up to the original. But it was still pretty good. BON JOVI ROCKZ!
And haha I know! It's not a bad word! Maybe the use of it isn't the greatest but the word isn't bad and they shouldn't censor it. Plus, I just hate when you're listening to music and it goes "BEEEEEEEEEP!" That song has some language in it but I'd rather hear that than an annoying beep noise. | | | 03-20-2010, 02:12 PM | #1085 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Jan 2009 Posts: 3,073 | Re: Rock of the 70s & 80s Club Originally Posted by chuhulil Wow! I think he pop (popper? lol ) but some of his songs had rock influences da d-da da d-ta daaaaa! this isn't really rock history but it's kinda rock history so: Some of you may know who the runaways are (for those who don't: one of the first [possible the first] all girl rock band, they pioneered the way for girl rockers. 70s and comprised of Cherie Currie (singer...cant remember if she played any guitar or keyboard or anything), Joan Jett (singer/guitarist ), Lita Ford (guitairist), Sandy West (drummer) and Jackie Fox (bassist, real name Jacqueline Fuchs) ) They are having a movie made about them!!!! It's starring Kristin Stewart as Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie (don't know the other actresses) It's basically a biopic which is mostly true. cool right? lol | | | 03-22-2010, 07:24 PM | #1088 | chuhulil Webkinz :) Join Date: Jul 2008 Posts: 5,424 | Re: Rock of the 70s & 80s Club Haha, Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett! i've heard of them i think, i've heard of some of their memebers for sure!
interesting though! 1973
The O'Jays hit #1 with "Love Train". 1973
Bread hits #15 with "Aubrey". 1974
Sunshine On My Shoulders (John Denver) was a hit. 1984
Talk Talk hits #31 in the US with "It's My Life". 1984
Depeche Mode hits #4 in the UK with "People are People". 1985
One More Night (Phil Collins) was a hit
i've heard of them all except the Talk Talk and "it's my life"
as for not being "rock" that they list, i'm guessing that it's maybe those who have had an influance on rock maybe that are included too... since John Denver is NOT Rock!
