Parents Addicted to Webkinz

I know you are out there and I just wanted to see how much of us are out there. How much of us get teased for our habit? Why or how you got started?

I'll start. I am a parent, my child is a toddler, to young to play on the computer. I do have some nieces and nephews that love webkinz. My oldest nephew got me started by buying my daughter a webkinz for her birthday, and I adopted it. But the time she is old enough to play all of the rooms are going to be decorated and she'll probably not see the account much and come to think of it might have to start her own. Because I am addicted to webkinz. Any one else?

Great thread idea! My daughter was sick last November and running a high fever. I felt sorry for her so I bought her a Webkinz Beagle. I helped her adopt and start decorating her room. She didn't have much money so I (and you Tink!) helped her make KC at Quizzy's. Eventually I got all three of my kids their own accounts. My son, (Tink's nephew) bought me my own webkinz when he bought Tink's daughter hers.... The rest is history. I love decorating and collecting. I try to help my kids out by trading for items they want but as it is I spend more time caring for their webbies than they do. They still love them but they are casual and don't want it to be like work... so I take care of most of the tedious stuff and they get on and get to play, cook, and rearrange.

I don't like getting teased about Webkinz.... basically my dh likes to bug me. I work at a school and the kids there think it's neat that I have webkinz like them. I share what I know about rares, PSIs, and exclusives so they know what's new and what's retired. (thanks to WI)

I have 2 daughters, my Aunt bought my youngest her first Webkinz last December. She wanted to buy stuff and so I started playing the Arcade games to earn her $. We also saw she needed Quizzy's answered to do certain jobs so I started doing that too. My oldest begged for one so I bought her one for Xmas, and so it began. Now I have 2 accounts of my own and we are all completely addicted. My youngest has her days where she could care less but my oldest and I are here everyday. She loves it that I am into Webkinz and it's something really fun we share.

I don't get picked on too much because I don't offer up the information to too many people lol It seems every time I admit to my addcition at a store when we are buying them the clerk admits she is addicted as well

Hubby picks on me but he thinks it's cool looking too and even bought me the Tiger for my birthday (SHOCKING) lol

tink I think you definitely should plan on letting her get her own account once she is old enough to play lol You won't want to give yours up for sure.

Hi , My Name is Mo and I am addicted to webkinz It all started one day when a friend came to visit and her daughter wanted her to look for one for an Easter present. . I had never heard of them . Then one day I was at my neighbors and her granddaughter had just got one but did not know how it worked.. Sooo I was out looking at them and saw a Pegasus ... My very first one and I love Pegasus ( still not sure what happened to my couch ??? )
It might be somewhere in the house .. ( hmmm maybe I should invite people over for a hide and seek game and first to find it wins a .... well something good but not retired or priceless lol ) but anywhooo .. I got one and we learned together .. soon her brother was in on it. Now those 3 are no longer interested and have turned their accounts over to me ..So each day .. here I sit doing chores on each account and trading like crazy .. ( but now I have more to trade ) --and enjoy looking all around the new houses ---and I was lucky enough to find a Love puppy couch in one of their houses .(not for trade ) .. and they have a sherbert bunny and I am still looking for that chair ..but being home stuck its great .. and being an adult with no kids ( unless my dog counts ) I am addicted ..

Hi my name is Countrychic11, you can call me CC. I am a grown up with no children of my own (nieces & nephews). They are the ones who got me addicted. They gave me my first one for Mother's Day. And it has been all down hill since. I now have 6 adopted and at least 5 waiting to be. I therefore am here to say, I am Addicted and I don't care who knows it.

I am a grandma! My married dd's friend gave her one for her birthday last August. She showed me the online part and I thought, "uh, whatever" but then she showed me and the dh Goober's Lab and we started playing that and liked it and just would play it at their house. Still didn't want one of my own. Then my dd bought me a cute monkey, who I named Duncan. I still thought there was no need to buy more than one, couldn't understand how anyone would need more than one unless it was time to renew an account. Then dd's friend told her about WI, dd showed me and told me to check out the Houses thread. That did it for me!!! When I saw what people did with all the multiples of items and also all the different PSIs, I was hooked big time! Now, 100 plus Webbies later, I can't imagine not having WW and WI in my life!!

To get the dh more accepting of my addiction, I talked him into opening an account! He has only two pets, and likes to garden and do his dailies!! Now he doesn't complain about it very much!!

I bought the first one for my hubby. He likes cats and anything kitty related. I got him a Striped Alley Cat, but since he doesn't mess with the computer it seemed logical for me to register the code and see what it was all about. I'm hooked now and not only does he not tease me about it, he actually buys me webbies on a regular basis. He still doesn't play on the computer, so the account is all mine...mine, all mine...bwahahaha *cough* Sorry about that, the addiction speaking and all that stuff.
