I was approximately 3-4 years old when my family and I moved into this beautiful rock house outside of Elkland, Missouri. The house was old, but very well maintained. It had wood floors throughout. The laundry room was in the basement, my sister and I had a bunk bed on the main floor, and my step-sister had her own room upstairs. Many strange things occurred on a regular basis. First of all, late at night, when everyone was in bed, you would hear heavy footsteps walking up and down the hallway. My sister and I would wake up crying because our "ghost" was shaking our bunk bed. My mother would yell from her bedroom, "Mr. Elwin, leave the girls alone!" The bed would immediately stop moving.

Other times, when my mother was in the bathtub she would suddenly feel someone watching her. She would tell the ghost to get out and the feeling would disappear. Most often, our ghost, who we believed to be our landlady's deceased husband and therefore was named "Mr. Elwin," was more ornery than scary or dangerous. He would pull the phone off the hook, or twist the knob on the washing machine several times. But there were two particular circumstances that clearly made him very angry.

My stepsister was 16 at the time so she had her own room upstairs, away from the rest of the family. Apparently, Mr. Elwin didn't want her sleeping in what was his daughter's bedroom. He would often come into her room at night and yank the covers off of her and shake the bed to scare her off. The other circumstance that seemed to anger our ghost involved a small closet underneath the stairway. This door had been locked when we moved in and we weren't provided a key to access it. However, my parents and a number of visiting relatives had occasionally attempted to force the door open. Every time anyone messed around with that closet door a horrible, undeniable odor filled the house. It was such a bad odor that we would have to air the place out. Eventually, someone did get the door open and inside was a dark stain on the floor. Nothing else. Many relatives refused to come back to our house because our ghost would taunt them so much while they were there!

Ashley - Sterling, Virginia - 2001-2003

In early 2001, my parents and I started renting a two-story house that wasn't more than 40 years old. We never knew about the previous owners or any history on the house. We were only told that the old owners moved out in a hurry. There were two sheds in the backyard that were full of old stuff that was left by the previous owners, so they really did leave in a hurry.

Odd things didn't start happening until after we lived there for a few months. There were four bedrooms upstairs and I had one that was on the end of the upstairs. That room was always freezing and it had a heavy feeling to it -- like whenever you walked into the room it felt like you were walking into a freezer and you were weighted down by something. After being sick a few times in that room, I moved to the bedroom adjacent to it. That room never got cold or had any weird feelings to it.

I used to cheerlead and play soccer, I had many trophies of all the years I did sports -- I had them all lined up on a dresser right next to my closet. One day, when I got home from school all my trophies were laying on the ground in a row. The house was empty all day and my door was closed the entire time I was at school. A lot of stuff happened in the closet of my room also. I would have toys that made noises be turned off and on, the switches would actually be switched to off when I put them away and then they would turn on in the middle of the night. And we had an attic that my father went into once since we lived there. There were no animals in the attic, just cobwebs and our winter stuff. But at night we would hear bumping sounds, sort of like someone knocking on the attic floor, but with carpet on the floor of the attic.

One day I was telling my friend about it, so we started knocking on the ceiling of my room. It was a simple "knock knock" and not two minutes later we heard a "knock knock" back. It scared us to the point where I would sleep in the living room for a little while. And my parents said that they couldn't hear anything, not us knocking or the knock back. Soon we decided to move closer to my new high school. The last month we were there I was sitting upstairs in the family room when I kept getting the feeling of being poked in the leg, stomach, sides, and arms. It was my muscles twitching -- like someone was poking me. Ever since moving out of that house I've had minor encounters with different things, but nothing compared to what went on in that house. I could never get any information on that house from anywhere, but I am continuing to look to this day.

Just thought I'd say though, when I looked at your pic of the girls standing together, the little head down there by their legs SO could have been photo-shopped becuase I know how to do it and it looked fake. also, the pic of the spirit next to the car didn't look real either. It looked like someone had just blurred in with white a human-like outline. However, even though I don't believe in all this stuff, I DO have a story. in fact, two. I was at my friends sleepover and it was midnight. one of the girls just finished telling a creepy story and then we turned out the lights for bed. well we slept in family room they have a sliding glass door to get to there backyard on one wall. I was just about to fall asleep when I saw a face in the glass that wasn't any of the girls or my friends family. I told my friend but then vanished. Kinda creepy right? Story #2) I went to a camp for my church and we had these different cabins. Well a girl had gone missing there a year before and no one had found her. They suspected she was dead. On my way back to my cabin from eating lunch, I saw the cabin next to us, the door closed. but it was a deserted cabin, no one was staying in there. it was deserted. So I kept on my way to my cabin. It inside and look out the window towards thcabin and I see someones face, like a ghostly almost face. the lights turnd on and off and then it was gone. I saw the door open and close and no one was opening or closing it. creepy right? However, I don't believe in this stuff so I just passed it off as a prank. anyhow,bye!

You guys rember my Bob story right? I got a little more info from a few other friends.

It turns out that Bob could talk and interacte with most ghosts and spirits. People could find him walking thorugh graveyards and he'd be talking to what people thought himself but the spirits of the people buried there.His family could do the smae as him but he didn't want to be around them so he moved to a haunted apartment well at least everyone thought. He would never be seen leaving or going into the house but he was always at work during the day and at home at night.People still think they se his sprit/ghost wander around the ofice and graveyards.I thought I saw him when I was leaving work actually.He's been gone ofr awhile and i'm suprised they no body has found him alive or his body at work or maybe even at his house yet.Someone probally DOES know what happened but not most people.

It turns out that Bob could talk and interacte with most ghosts and spirits.
