Keep His decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the Lord you God gives you for all time. Deut. 4:40 You shall rejoice in all the good things the Lord your God has given to you and your household. Deut. 26:11 The Lord remembers us and will bless us... he will bless those who fear the Lord - small and great alike. May the Lord make you increase, both you and your children. May you be blessed by the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 115:12-15 Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him. Psalm 127:3 He who fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for his children it will be a refuge. Proverbs 14:26 The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him. Proverbs 20:7 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6 The Proverbs 31 Woman - ...Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty if fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 31:28-31 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother" - which is the first commandment with a promise - "that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:1-4 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12 * * * But I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice. Psalm 55:16,17 And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:5,6 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Matthew 6:7,8 Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. Matthew 18:19 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him. 1 John 5:14,15 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with Thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Psalm 32:7 Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:3-4 Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you. Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men. Proverbs 2:11-12 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. Daniel 3:17 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. John 3:16-18 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name - the names you gave me - so that they may be one as we are one. John 17:11 Love... it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. That's a lot, but they're really meaningful!
Here are some poems I made:
This one I don't have I title. Its about MY God. You know how summer posted one earlier? I really liked it and wanted to write one about how I see God. Maybe you guys can help me think of one. The second one I wrote because my family is moving very far away from a place that I really LOVE out away from the city, yet in the middle of a sweet little town. Its called, Wild Strawberries. We have those growing around a tree in our front yard. They are very symbolic for me, but my dad wants to replace them with mulch so the yard "looks better, and not so weedy." I love those strawberries. Please pray for my family during this tough, stressed time of moving. The second poem is not finished, and its just a rough draft. I wanted to share it with you guys, though.
Here is the first one:
My God is there
when I'm feeling small,
yet he never seems
like he is too tall.
He won't judge me
by the clothes that I wear
or the money I have,
nor the length of my hair.
My God is there
when I feel out of place
when I want to run
and just hide my face.
He'll always love me
no matter what.
Have you ever had
that simple thought?
My God is there
when I'm strong or I'm meek.
He's there to love me,
a prep or a geek.
He will support me
through the tough and the wrong.
I know he's there,
and will keep me strong.
I love him, that's true
with all of my heart.
And you can be strong,
'cause he loves you, too!
Here is the second one:
Wild Strawberries
"Home is where the heart is"
I hear them say
And that's sort of true-
in a way
But home is not
wherever you go
My home is where
the wild strawberries grow.
Where you can play all day long
then climb high in a tree
and hum and sweet song.
Where thoughts can roam,
and bare feet prance.
That is my home,
where butterflies dance.
