I've been praying ever since she did that photo shoot thingy, and I hope that all of you will now pray with me that she will become innocent once again and will trust God as her Lord and Savior.

That's really sad . She used to be an innocent girl who was known for Hannah Montana, but I think she's turned onto a different path now. We can all pray for her, and Britney .

On the subject of Miley Cyrus...well, she's growing up. She's come to a point in her life where she has to choose which road she's gonna take. And I'm sorry to say, I think we all know which road she's chosen. But there's hope for anyone, some of the most Spirit-filled on-fire-for-Jesus people I know we're once these impatient-uncaring-[edited]-living-in-the-streets-[edited] people. My youth pastor to name one of many.
I think Miley's tasted the rock-star life, and she thinks she likes it.The only thing we can do for her is pray. We have to change her heart, not her mind.

Daily Devotional for August 11, 2009
"New Again!"

"Don't these old cars look funny, Grandpa?" asked Chris when he and his grandfather visited an automobile museum one day.
Grandpa smiled. "Well," he said, "they look a bit funny to us now, but they were pretty fancy in their day, you know." He pointed to one of the cars. "That one is like the one my grandfather drove when I was about your age. It came in any color you wanted, as long as what you wanted was black."
Chris laughed. "Some of these old cars look brand new!" he exclaimed, peering through the window of one of them. "This one doesn't look like it's ever been out on the road."
"Oh, but it has," said Grandpa. "It's very old and must have traveled many miles, but it's been restored."
"Restored?" asked Chris. "That means it's fixed up so that it looks just like it did when it was new, right?"
Grandpa nodded. "Worn out parts have been replaced," he said. "The old paint was removed, and the car's been repainted with shiny, new paint. It's just like it's all brand new again." After a moment he added, "It's kind of like what Jesus does for us when we confess our sin to Him. He takes it all away and makes us clean again. The Bible says He 'restores' our souls. It's like He refreshes us and makes us new again."
"When an old car is restored, it must look way different than it did when it was worn out," observed Chris, "but Jesus doesn't make us look different."
"Well . . . I'm not so sure about that," said Grandpa. "I was thinking about changes He makes in spirits and souls and attitudes, not in physical appearance." Grandpa paused. "But now that you mention it, I think we often look different, too," he added. "When we've had our sins forgiven-when we're restored-we might wear a smile instead of a scowl and have a happy, cheerful outlook on life! Don't you think?"
Thoughtfully, Chris nodded.

HOW ABOUT YOU?
Do you need to be "restored"? Perhaps you've trusted Jesus as your Savior and had your sins forgiven, but you've done something you know is wrong. Your fellowship with God is broken. When you're sorry for your sin and confess it, God will restore you to fellowship with Him. You can feel refreshed and clean again. When that happens, let it show in your smile. Let others see Jesus in your cheerful, helpful spirit.
