Hours: Feel free to post anytime you want, but I will be on:
Mornings-11 am-1 pm
Afternoons-6 pm- 8 pm

*I will have several week vacations this summer, so I will keep you posted on when I will be gone ASAP*

ReCiPEs:

Rice Krispy Treats-

-1or 2 bags miniature marshmallows
-1 tablespoon butter
-2 cups Kellogg's Rice Crispy Cereal

Melt butter in a saucepan. Add marshmallows.
Stir until mixture becomes difficult to stir any more. Mix in the Rice Crispy Cereal and stir until hot.

Butter a pan (a square pan like a brownie pan) and spread mixture evenly in the pan. Allow to cool and cut into squares.

Guide # 1

Answering the Phone

One of the most difficult things to do when babysitting is answering the phone when a omplete stranger calls.

Ok first: Do the parents have caller ID? Check beforehand to see who you are allowed to answer the phone to

Ok Next: Decide if the person is asking about something important to decide whether or not to call the parents after the phone call

Ok Then: Beforehand also make a password with the parents to make sure the person answering is really someone the family knows

Finally: Reply in a nice, professional, unnervous way:

Good Example: "Mr. Jones can't come to the phone right now, please call again later."

Bad Example: "Mr. Jones is out eating dinner, and I'm the babysitter, give me a message to give him."

The Babysitting Kit

You will need to put in this lovely bag:

--Hygiene items for emergencies(gurls should now what I am talking about)
--1 or 2 board games max(depending on how big the bag is, also the kids might have games at their house)
--A few movies(ask the parents what's the highest rating and what their children are allowed to watch with supervision
--A book(to pass time by while little ones are sleeping); don't foget to check in on the kids
--Crafts and Recipes
--a few coloring books
--Paper, Pencils, Pens, markers, colored pencils, crayons, etc.

Blog #1:

Ok, I am going tomorrow to the Red Cross Babysitting Training Class. It is a 6 1/2 hour program that can be done in one day the whole period of time or in several days in shorter incriments of time

You must be at least 11 years old and under 16 years old to participate. It does cost some money ($65 dollars to be exact) so always get a parent's permission before signing up. When you complete the class you will be given some free items to keep and help you with future babysitting. For babysitters just starting out, this is the perfect class to get yourself into for more advanced and up-to-date training. I have a bunch of toddlers on my block, so it is like babysitter's heaven! And summer is always the PERFECT time to babysit. There are two reasons I am currently babysitting: to earn money for a new phone and to get to know and have fun with the kids in my neighborhood. Blog #2:

What's in a name? Well it is not in my field of practice to answer that question for you, but it is in my field of practice to tell you about how my class went. It was AWESOME! We learned how to take care of infants,the business of babysitting, and rescue breathing. We also were given certificates, a first aid kit, and a babysitter's training book!

This Friday I will be babysitting my little cousin Lily, boy is she always a smily baby! My next blog will be about how THAT goes down, lol. But it will get me some more infant babysitting experience,I mean, as a babysitter, for business purposes it would be wise to be open to ALL age ranges.....
