Hi everyone! Thank you for the great welcome! Ithildin/Jeremy "moxsapphir" (that's all the letters AOL used to allow anyone, it should be MoxSapphire). It was a nickname for a very rare Magic The Gathering card. I chose the sapphire because it was my birthstone. There is also a Mox: Diamond, Ruby, Emerald & Jet.

The Alchemyst by Michael Scott is the first in a series of young adult books about a pair of twins and the famous alchemist, Nicholas Flamel (you might remember his name from Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone) and a host of charcters from different legends/myths. It's basically a struggle between good and evil, but it's very entertaining. There are three books out there currently, I believe, and a fourth installment on the way.

I have not read the Inferno (as in Dante's?). The Old English would make it very difficult I would imagine. I have been toying with reading Goethe and wondering if the old wording might make for a very long reading. I have not read the Percy Jackson books but did see the movie with someone who had and she made sure to inform me of everywhere the movie deviated.

Right now I am reading Gail Z Martin's, Dark Lady's Chosen." It's the fourth in a series (and I have a feeling it might be the last installemt by the way things are unfolding). A very good series if you like vampires, werewolves, healers, summoners, mad kings, spirits and the like. It's for adults. First in the series is The Summoner. Lots of characters. It's high on my list.

ASHxO, you mentioned you were almost through with your book. What are you reading & are you enjoying it?

i'm reading ingo by helen dunmore, & it's a great book!
many people in this club said that they have actually read the book, & that it was a great series.
