I do good to clear level 3. I taught my dear daughter how to play and she got to level 4 on her first game. I pretty much try to start at the middle and work my way out. Oh, and Hints are always on! What is the purpose of the Undo button? By the time I realize I need to undo something, it is usually 3 or 4 plays later. | | | 05-07-2008, 02:49 AM | #12 | orld's Slowest Webkinz :) Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 1,242 | Re: Tile Towers ideas.. We've enjoyed mahjong games on our PDAs for years, so this is a favorite WKW game for us, too. I find we get better the more we play, and the more familiar we become with the tiles - when you first start, it's almost impossible!
Breezmom - sometimes undo is helpful for seeing what's underneath a tile. If you make a pair, you can see if the hidden on is one you're searching for. If not, you might try another pair. I do that occasionally. Otherwise, I'm with you - I generally realize 2 moves later that I took the wrong pair! | | | 05-07-2008, 10:52 PM | #13 | Happy to be Gift Guru Join Date: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,344 | Re: Tile Towers ideas.. Thanks for all the input everyone. I think I'm off to try and better my score! LOL | | | 05-09-2008, 02:27 AM | #14 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Feb 2008 Posts: 38 | Re: Tile Towers ideas.. I love this game too, it's one of my favorites! I don't like the "classic" version as well as the last/third choice (which I can't remember the name of, right now... ) I like to play the third choice, which is the one where you can clear the board if you clear all the blue/purple tiles. For some reason, it's easier on my eyes, and I think the tiles are prettier! I have to turn the music off after awhile though, 'cause my head starts doing that Egyptian "head-bob" thingy....LOL! | | | 05-10-2008, 09:15 PM | #15 | Lil Kinz Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 5 | Re: Tile Towers ideas.. I play this game ALOT. My best score is 5978. I think it is a fair money maker for the amount of time spent, especially b/c I like the game. Even if I get stuck in the first round, I've made 30+ kc and I go right back in for another round. I usually play the "classic" cause the instructions state that you get less points (therefore less money) in the "quick" version. And I've never tried the "target" version.
Notenoughtime: As far as I know there is not a trophy for this game. I've researched that a little bit and haven't found any evidence of a trophy. Oh well, I still like this game the best! | | | 05-11-2008, 12:01 AM | #16 | Gift Guru Join Date: Apr 2007 Posts: 14,760 | Re: Tile Towers ideas.. I love this game, though I rarely get past level 2. Now that I know the "undo" trick, maybe I'll do better! (This is my first experience with mah jong, so that might be part of it, too.) | | | 05-11-2008, 06:06 AM | #17 | LL54 and LLK54 Webkinz :) Join Date: May 2007 Posts: 67 | Re: Tile Towers ideas.. I have found that you remove all the ones on the bottom. If you will watch on the "help" that it always removes bottom ones. For the most of it that seems to work the best for me. I have gotten as high as five or six I think.:luvfrog:

I always played the classic until my daughter got me to try the target and I like it a little better. Both are great. I have made it to the fourth level.

So I don't think my hints would help at all.
Does anyone know if we can win a trophy at this game though? | | | 05-14-2008, 12:51 PM | #20 | the fairest 0f all Gift Guru Join Date: Jun 2007 Posts: 8,737 | Re: Tile Towers ideas.. i love this game too. i find it relaxing and i like that there's plenty of time so i can be interrupted if needed.
i play the same way scotchy does, getting the single tile on the tip and sides as early as possible and then working mostly from the top down and outsides in as much as possible.
the other thing i watch for is where the same tiles are in the same row. then i know i have to use the pair to get out the first one in the row and not another matching tile or i'll get stuck.
my high score is 12383.
oh, and i also prefer the target version because i just find the colors easier for my tired eyes. | | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | | | Thread Tools | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off
