Start on the right side
Connect to as many 3 and 4 way pieces to link back to the homes
If you have time, link more pieces, even if they don't go anywhere, to get more points
Link pieces under barriers to get them off the map sooner
Spend your time on the path, not a specific block. The more you click, the faster the time goes.

It doesn't matter how quickly you get the webkinz home, but how many you get. On the top of the screen, it tells you how many you have left. If more than one houses are connected to a path, it counts as the amount of houses that were connected. The more sections of the path attached, the more points though!

The most important thing to know about Home Before Dark is that there is NO time bonus. There is NO advantage to getting your pets home quickly. In fact, the advantage lies in gathering max points and therefore max kinzcash! So use EVERY moment available! For me, the best strategy is to make long roads (you get points for all connected roads, and more points for the roads actually used by pets), gathering toys and getting them to just one or two houses at a time. On the easier levels, I concentrate on the party house and try to bring toys home each run.

connect as many houses together as possible. Then in the middle of the "maze" I connect as many paths together before getting to the pets. Yes, it takes a few extra seconds, but I often get the pets to all of the houses at the same time. It gets harder to do this as the levels increase, though because you have more pets to get home. It helps at the lower levels because your score increases faster.

Trying to get all the houses on the right to connect is a huge waste of time. I have found it much easier to just quickly get one or two webkinz home, because this way, instead of two or three tries that take way too long, you have 4 or 5, that are really quick, and then you are swimming in time!

At the top is your score and then the number of webkinz you need to get home. Another thing, start at the end with the houses and connect as many as you can then work towards the left.
