I don't know what I am doing wrong. I run out of time. They say this is the easiest game to win a trophy but I am starting to wonder. Ugh. Back to the game. | | | 11-12-2008, 10:31 PM | #13 | Revive our hearts Gift Guru Join Date: Sep 2008 Posts: 2,863 | Re: TROPHY help It is a totally random trophy. I have never found it either. Thankfully, the chances of getting a trophy are supposedly higher when Goober's Lab is Game of the Day, so when it finally is again, you should try playing it for a while and see if you have a better chance then! Good Luck! You may have something with the game of the day thought. Today it was the game of the day, and I got a trophy! I think I was on level 11 when I got it, but that is all I know. I wasn't expecting it, or even trying for it!
The trophy is so cool too! I didn't know it was animated! | | | 11-14-2008, 03:35 PM | #15 | Gifted Join Date: Oct 2007 Posts: 866 | Re: TROPHY help A couple of clarifications that I hope will help:
1. The trophy odds for almost all of the games are hard-coded right into the game scripts, so they do not change on a day-to-day basis. There is no improvement in your chances when it is game of the day. In some of the newer games, this may be possible, but in the older ones they would have to recompile the game entirely, which is risky for something that means nothing to Ganz.
2. There is a simple clue that you can use to be sure you are doing what you need to do to earn a trophy chance. When you USE one of the 5-atom bonus "sparkly" atoms in ANY other group, one of three things will happen: About half the time, you will clear all of that colour; about half the time you will get a Kinzcash Bonus; and rarely, you will get "A Prize" (the trophy). The important point is that if you see the clear-all effect, or the kinzcash bonus, you'll know you are doing the right thing, and eventually, you'll get the trophy by doing the same thing.
As noted by others above, 1 in 400 odds does not mean that you will get one for sure after you've used 400 5-atom bonus atoms. Imagine putting 399 red kidney beans in a bag, and one white one. Reach in and take a bean. If it is white, you win the trophy. If it is red, YOU PUT IT BACK, shake the bag, and try again. Every time you reach into the bag, your chances are the same, no matter what happened last time, no matter how many times you've "won" or lost. No matter what day of the week, how "lucky" you are, what level you are on, etc. The same odds, every single time. The game does not keep track of past successes or failures. On average, after a jillion jillion tries, you would find that you have about 1 trophy for every 400 chances, but it would take years to see this trend in your actual results. Check out the Random Trophies...Part II thread in the main games forum for some more info on how this works.
It's natural to feel like you are doing something wrong, or something has changed if you don't win for a while. I know the feeling! But it is just the nature of random chance. I've won two trophies in one game before, and I've gone weeks and weeks without winning one. That's just the way it is. I'm a Gift Guru Join Date: Jun 2008 Posts: 2,627 | Re: TROPHY help I have won several trophies in Goober's lab while playing in the tournament arena, and agree that it is completely random. You enter the chance pool after you use a certain number of flashing balls, which can happen at any level; more flashing balls appear at higher levels. I have had long stretches of up to a couple of months where I haven't won a trophy, even with several games over level 15. And then all of a sudden I win a trophy on a game at a fairly low level where I don't even win any money in the tournament. There have been other times when I won 2 trophies in one day... as I said, completely random. | | | 11-15-2008, 03:44 PM | #17 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Nov 2008 Posts: 134 | Re: TROPHY help like others have said before, check out the random trophies guide | | | 11-15-2008, 03:45 PM | #18 | cluelesslogan94 Webkinz :) Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 436 | Re: TROPHY help Originally Posted by Catchfire Here is how to get a goober's lab trophy. It doesn't matter if you make the flashy ball yourself or if it's just one that shows up. You have a 1 in 400 chance of winning a trophy. At least that's what I read in a game guide and until recently it's worked every single time. I've gotten eight trophies so far. What I do is keep track of how many flashy swirly balls I've gotten by using a scratch list. That's where you make a small line for the first one through the fourth and then you put the fifth line straight across the other four. That way when it's really easy to count them since you just count by fives. Unfortunately I just got past four hundred and I didn't get a trophy since it's possible I may have miscounted I went over the mark but still didn't get another trophy. I think it's because of all the glitches. The same thing also happened to me on a friends and I went past five hundred on there. I had this also happen to me recently on cash cow as well. That game owes me two trophies. So I wrote them a letter about it. I'm sure you'll have better luck. But could you please pm me and tell me either when you get a trophy or you reach just over four hundred flashy swirly balls. It doesn't always take using the full four hundred flashy balls to get a trophy I've gotten one that was as low as 87 balls. Here's some tips on how to get the most flashy balls to show up the fastest. I found that during the first four level you should move fairly fast. Constantly clicking on the next group. But especially try to get four balls in a row and use them just as much as possible. In my opinion it makes the flashy balls start showing up faster. Even as low as the fourth level. Of course if you're lucky enough to get five balls at once during the first three to four levels then do your best to use it. When you start getting to the higher levels work near the top and use the four atom balls to keep going. Because the higher you are the more flashy balls you will see. And don't obsess about getting every single one because you're more likely to put yourself into a trapped position. Just generally work your way to it. But sometimes you just can't get that darn ball. Anyway good luck and by the way I don't think it matters what level your on in order to get a trophy because I'm usually between levels six to twelve and I've even gotten a trophy on level four. It also doesn't matter how high your level is I've gotten a trophy as high as twenty two. Or maybe it was higher. Have fun!
