How do I not run out of turns in Goober's Lab?

That makes sense-at first I tried playing from the bottom only coz the balls drop and I can get swirlies to drop from the top. I'm getting a little bit further along when I'm playing from the top. When you got the trophy on level one did you also drop a swirly ball (from 5 in a row) into a set of 5? I'm having a hard time setting it up before Goober says Eureka!

No, you can use the swirly atom in a set of three and still get the trophy.

Try doing more vertical moves than horizontal.
Also try to do more at the bottom verses the top.
