What does the clock do?

I know what the eraser and apple blocks do, but i can't figure out what the clock block does. It's probably obvious but i can't figure it out. I've played hundereds of this game and have only won one trophy. BUT my math skillls are greatly improving.

the clock slows down the speed the blocks come for a few seconds then resumes gives you a few seconds to catch up and get rid of some blocks before they start falling again lol

Okay, I figured it out, you are talking about Booger gets an A. Now what does the eraser and apple do if the clock slows the blocks down?

The eraser erases a couple of rows and the apple takes away a few sums that you have left to do.

to be more precise (no offense) the eraser takes one row at the bottom away and then apple takes 2 sums and again the clock stops time for a bit (meaning that the blocks up top stop)then start again. hope that clarifies things.
