Quick question about gameplay

Okay - so I notice that even though my opponent has no run dice, they seem to move up one space regardless. Why is that? I know if we both have nothing, it says no one moved but I was hoping someone could help me understand the reason the other one moves if he has no runs left.......thanks!

It's because of the dodge dice. If a player has a dodge dice (the defense ones) then he is given one run. Keep in mind that even if you have multiple dodge dice, you will only get one run. A good way this is useful - say your opponent has only a trip(2) dice left. Your only dice is a Wild(2). If you convert it to a run, your opponent will trip you. However if you convert it to a dodge, your opponent can't get rid of it, and you will be given 1 run.

Ahhh - okay - that makes sense. I was just leaving things alone if there were no more run dice in their hand - thank you - that will make a difference!
