That thread is over 2 years old, was made by a 'guest', and the links to the 'screenshots' are all broken, so I'm hoping a 'revisit' isn't unwarranted... ^_^ ]
In the "instructions/info" for DiceKinz, it states: Originally Posted by DiceKinz Rulez Trip: These dice can be used to remove Run dice. Trip dice can be Dodged. This is apparently a very obscure technique, and it took me awhile to figure out how to do it, so I'm posting for the benefit of anyone who may have been as frustrated as I was. ^_^
As an example, say you are playing against a computer opponent with a Run-3 die. You have a Trip-1 and a Trip-2. As the 'info' above states, you CAN "combine" your Trip dice to throw out your opponent's Run. However, HOW you do this isn't exactly straightforward...
If you drop either one of your Trip dice into the Action Box and click "Ready", it won't work. After that, trying to put the other Trip into the "Target" box fails with "you can't use that on your own dice", and trying to drop the Run as the "Target" gets you the "your dice isn't big enough to Jostle that die" message.
The key is: DO NOT CLICK "READY" after dropping the first Trip die.
To make this work, drop one of the Trip dice into the Action box, then drop the other Trip dice into the Action box WITH THE FIRST ONE. The screen will show you BOTH Trip dice in the same Action box (kind of caddy-cornered and one overlapping the other). NOW click "Ready", and the game will let you target any of your opponent's Run dice with a value up to that of the SUM of your two Trips. ^_^
For example, if you drag a Trip-2 into your Action box, then drop a Trip-3 on top of it, THEN click "Ready", you can select and discard one opponent's Run dice up to and including a Run-5. ^_^
This is obviously handy for tossing a big Run dice with a pair of your smaller Trip dice, but it also can be used to 'overpower' your opponent's Dodge dice as well. For example, say your opponent has a Run-3 and a Dodge-3, while you have a Trip-3 and a Trip-1. If you use the Trip-3 on your opponent's Run-3, he'll just use the Dodge-3 to avoid it. However, if you COMBINE your two Trip-3 with your Trip-1, they'll act together as if they were a "Trip-4". ...Now you can remove the Run-3 and your opponent can't use the Dodge-3 to avoid it, since the "3" isn't big enough to stop a "4". ^_~
Depending on the dice you utilize, you may or may not get much opportunity to use "Trip Combinations" to your advantage, but there it is. Also note, the "computer opponents" DON'T use this tactic themselves. I have seen literally hundreds of times where a computer opponent COULD have 'combined' two smaller Trips to take out one of my big Run dice, and they've NEVER done it. ...Just not a part of their AI algorithms, I guess.
...For what it's worth.
