Bounce N Burst Looking for some tips on speed

Since winning my first trophy about 3 weeks ago, I've managed to win 90-100 more. I know some are beating the game in 10 minutes or less but I can't seem to beat 12 minutes. I hit the space bar to speed through the screens between levels which helps but there has to be something else. I seem to finish just under 13 minutes to about 14 minutes depending on if I loose any lives. I've noticed the balls move different in internet explorer than in firefox. I use firefox most of the time and when I try ie it throws off my timing and my times are worse. Are you breaking the large balls when they are high up or low? I try both ways and don't seem to get any faster.

For me, low makes a big difference. You can't shoot again while your feather is ascending, so the sooner it hits something, the faster you clear the rest. Whenever possible I hit them low, and while I'm hitting them I plan my moves for any stragglers so I can time the bounces. Being 'selectively agressive' in that way can save many seconds of waiting for the next bounce. I also like to get them cornered against a side, or between a couple of platforms.

It's possible that the PC will render it a little slower on a slower machine too. My fastest clearing of a full level (7+) is 17 seconds unaided by a power-up, but that was pretty lucky. More often it takes me 19-23 seconds, or a little longer on levels with the center stile. Never 30 anymore. With a double feather, I've done it in 16.

Of course, these are just based on the timer in the game, but overall, I finish on the same last digit minute as I start when I watch my PC clock.

Hi! I've just started playing this game and won about 10 trophies in the past week. I win about 50% of the games I play right now, and I notice that I have difficulty winning when I play on our fast Vista dual-core machine. The balls move really quickly and I end up dying on levels 10 or 12. When I play on our 5 year old computer, it takes me about 25 minutes, but I am always able to win a trophy (tho I feel like the balls are moving in slooow motion...). I can't imagine how you all finish it in 15 minutes or less without dying. Thanks for the tip on Internet explorer vs. firefox. I will have to try that one out!

You may have a slow internet connection, Elektra. I just tried it (inspired by you) and beat the game in eight-and-a-half minutes. I died twice, which probably cost me about 20-25 seconds. I don't have any secrets for you. I try to pick "safe" places to stand and hit the space bar like crazy. Williamson's tip about waiting until the large balls get low is a good one. If I've got one isolated, I'll wait until it almost hits me before I start hitting the space bar. Also, I hit the up arrow repeatedly between levels, so there's no delay.

I'll have to keep working at it. I'm running a pentium 2.8 dual core with 2gb of ram. I get similar speeds though on my 1.4celeron laptop. My cable is 15mb down a 2mb up and on the speedtest site such as speakeasy I'll max it out. I'm still trying to figure out the ie vs firefox difference. The balls appear faster in ie but it still takes me much the same time. I may have to play on ie for a few night to adjust to the difference and see if I can improve. Might try netscape as well.
