Wow!! I'm so glad you can win a trophy on this course now, and that the glitch has been fixed! I really have never tried this course since I was wanting trophies, but now that you can win it on that course, I'm totally going to try it! | | | 07-11-2009, 08:49 PM | #22 | Chortle All the Way Wiki SysOp Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 5,546 | Re: Polar Plunge - Guide to Course 4 - Black Diamond with Images - Course Completed - Congrats monkeecj on Trophy Win! I was a bit nervous that something was wrong because I beat this course several more times without winning any trophies... But I just got another one so it definitely is fixed. I am just wondering what the odds are... I figured they were 1 in 2 but I am not close to that so far. I am keeping track of my scores, though, so maybe they will even out the more I win. | | | 07-13-2009, 01:24 PM | #23 | Chortle All the Way Wiki SysOp Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 5,546 | Re: Polar Plunge - Guide to Course 4 - Black Diamond with Images - Course Completed - Congrats monkeecj on Trophy Win! I was STILL having doubts that this trophy was random... My trophy winnings on two accounts looked like the following:
(Account/Wins in order)
Account 1 - TROPHY, no trophy, no trophy, no trophy
Account 2 - TROPHY, no trophy
Being a worrier like I am, I thought that the trophy might only be awarded on the first finish of the course and never again, but...
I did finally get a second trophy on an account so IT IS DEFINITELY FIXED. Don't let me try to tell anyone otherwise!!!
I am keeping track of my wins, commodore, if you want to record them as to find an empirical average for the trophy odds. Have you been playing the course again yet? | | | 07-18-2009, 07:25 PM | #24 | Gift Guru Join Date: Jul 2007 Posts: 12,321 | Re: Polar Plunge - Guide to Course 4 - Black Diamond with Images - Course Completed - Congrats monkeecj on Trophy Win! I haven't played this course at all (playing other games in the Arcade). And now Wacky Zingoz has got my attention now.
You'll find that some accounts will win more, and some less, but will average out to about 1/3 eventually. | | | 07-18-2009, 08:28 PM | #25 | Chortle All the Way Wiki SysOp Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 5,546 | Re: Polar Plunge - Guide to Course 4 - Black Diamond with Images - Course Completed - Congrats monkeecj on Trophy Win! Originally Posted by commodore You'll find that some accounts will win more, and some less, but will average out to about 1/3 eventually. For the middle two courses that is true, but I thought the odds for Black Diamond are likely 1 in 2 instead of the 1 in 3 for the medium courses and 1 in 4 for Kewl Runnings. That only makes sense because this one is so much longer and more difficult.
At one point I had a perfect 1 in 2 trophy average. Right now, however, I am a little under with 8 trophies, 19 wins (42%) which is coming off of a three-game streak with no trophies.
That's why I wondered if you would like to know my trophy odds, for I was at least hoping that they would be higher for this course than for any of the others. Unless you know for certain they are not, and then I can stop hoping. Hi monkeecj,
I still think it is too early to say ... on Course 3, I got 7 trophies in a row and that was incredible, but it still balanced my odds to 1:3 there.
If it is OK with you, would you mind continuing to keep a record of your wins on Course 4 - that would help us a great deal. So far, there hasn't been enough finishes to really say.
Thanks monkeecj. | | | 07-20-2009, 06:08 PM | #27 | Chortle All the Way Wiki SysOp Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 5,546 | Re: Polar Plunge - Guide to Course 4 - Black Diamond with Images - Course Completed - Congrats monkeecj on Trophy Win! Originally Posted by commodore Hi monkeecj,

Thanks monkeecj. I'm going to cross my fingers that there is a 50/50 chance, and I definitely will keep recording my wins as I have been with all four of the Polar Plunge courses.
I did ask someone to look into the programming to see if they can find the odds for this course, and I am awaiting a response as soon as they log onto WI.
Wow! Seven trophies in a row... isn't probability incredible? | | | 07-20-2009, 06:13 PM | #28 | Gift Guru Join Date: Jul 2007 Posts: 12,321 | Re: Polar Plunge - Guide to Course 4 - Black Diamond with Images - Course Completed - Congrats monkeecj on Trophy Win!
